i would have a much higher respect for purvis if he had been straight up about leaving and quietly GTFO. between the tweet/retweet nonsense and the glaring possibility he screwed us out of getting randle while on his way out... it just sucks. i was calling him my favorite player this year; i loved his game emotion and effort, and pretty much everybody knows he had minutes on lock next year if he just kept it up. i'd like to know what else is going on.

apparently we are changing the restrictions on Purvis' transfer and will allow him to go to any non-ACC school now. So I guess he removed Mizzou and Cincy from the exempt list

Why do people act like players can't improve?

He's a super athletic freshman. It's certainly not guaranteed but be seems like a hard worker and is naturally gifted with athleticism. It's very likely he will be a good college player eventually, though I'm skeptical he will ever be an adequate PG.

Yeah, I liked Purvis and thought he was going to be huge for us next year.

I still think he's making the wrong decision and one that makes it look like he feels he deserves something he hasn't earned yet but I'm not going to trash his basketball playing abilities just because he left.

I like Purvis just fine, seems like a nice enough kid, but c'mon, statements like this are just absurd. I was Purvis fan BECAUSE he played for NC State. Had he played for UNC I would've cursed him. Had he played anywhere else I wouldn't have cared about him. He has yet to do anything to transcend and make me care about him after he's turned his back on my team. Get this "my true fans" bullshit outta here.

I wish him well and his new team nothing but the [2nd] best. But I'm an NC State fan, not a Purvis fanboy.

^Exactly. I would consider myself a RW fan, because he graduated from this University, played for us for 3 years and in that time his off-the-field attitude, work ethic, etc. made him a beloved Wolfpack player to many (myself included).

I was just saying I'd rather us play Mizzou and Cincinnatti than Norfolk State or Stanford, plus it means we'd get a shot at them at home as well.
