I pretty much think this is where it should be headed. Although, I will say I think it should be the power 5 conference champs and only a non power five champ if they go undefeated. So every year you get 2 or 3 at large bids (SEC teams) but all you need to do is win your conference and you are in.

This is as close as they can get to the NFL which is almost never questioned except when some team wins their conference at like 8-8, but we have seen those teams can still make noise in the playoffs.

Notre Dame doesnt wanna join a conference then they have to get an at large bid and seeing as most of the traditional games they play are against teams that arent very good anymore and also all those ACC games chances are they are screwed. Just join the ACC coastal and guarantee yourself a championship game every year lol.

The problem is not that #5 might deserve a shot but that 2-4 wont deserve a shot. If there is a clear #1 but then 1 spot for a bunch of 2 loss teams then how do you decide which 2 loss team gets in. If the one that gets in wins it all then you dont have a clear champion. The loser of the iron bowl will miss the playoffs but could easily win a tournament with 2 losses.

Loving this UM/Carowhina game right now. Duke Johnson has been running all over them today. Another good thing that will come of this is that on Monday morning the callers for the local sports radio station down here in Miami won't be whining and calling for Golden's head.
