So why did Painter get two quick scores and some boards and get pulled for the game? He was a fucking bright spot out there and got his ass sat on the bench the rest of the game. Game #6 and already with this unexplainable bench players for no fucking reason.

What I don't understand is why does Lowe clap for them every time they come in for a huddle or a time out even if they are playing atrocious garbage basketball or doing dumb plays. He has played this "I'm your friend, your my friend" BS with players that past few years and it has gotten them no where. Yell at em, bench em, do something other than praise them with claps no matter what they do...establish some discipline in your team and responsibility instead of clapping and keeping players in that fail to give 100% effort and play with any sort of remote focus and smartness in their play.

I have been to every single game under Lowe and watched every game he has coached at NC State - trust me he claps for them...don't give me this isolated "Lowe got pissed this one time garbage" - he doesn't get mad at his players...look at all the great coaches...do you see them not getting pissed or calmly talking to his players when they are playing like absolute garbage...NO!

Cue - Bob Knight, mike krzyzewski, and yes even Roy Williams...the list goes on...they get pissed

There is no discipline on his team...they all get along but there is no discipline.

some of you think way too highly of our stature as a basketball school. we are nobodies in the national eye. no coach that is good and doesn't need to learn on the job has any reason whatsoever to come to nc state. our best shot would be an up and comer from a smaller school that has something to prove and wants a chance to do it. then, if he found any sort of success at nc state, he would jump ship for the first big-time basketball school that came calling.

sure a coach like sid has a lot of on-the-job learning to do, but you can be damn sure if he finds success he won't sell it off to the highest bidder. no, that doesn't mean you give him a lifetime contract regardless of results, but you do need to be patient with him.

the clock should start ticking next year. that is the first year that 100% of the team will be sidney lowe's recruits. that's when his credibility can really be brought into question. i agree that he did some pretty crazy shit with the lineup last year, but we were struggling. if it isn't working, what is he supposed to do? not try to spark a change and improve team chemistry?

substitutions this year are a completely different thing than the lineup shuffle from last season. we haven't even changed the starting 5 at all yet this season, though i'm sure we will. beyond that, i don't know what you expect us to do with our substitution patterns.

most teams aren't going to do very well when they have to rely so heavily on underclassmen to perform at a high level. it takes time to build up a strong core of solid players so that we will have strong upperclassmen contributors (see tracy smith) every year at multiple positions. that's what we're building here, and i think we're making progress.
