It seems like the interviewer doesn't like State. See the interview with Ryan Harrow as further evidence. No one questioned O.J. Mayo when he went to USC or when Michael Beasley went to Kansas State.

I cannot take anything from that website seriously because the author clearly has a bias. If and when a more objective writer asks CJL about his recruiting, I will be more inclined to read what is said.

^ With Harrow it makes sense. The cookie-cutter recruiting sites look at a kid's size (height/weight) and offer list, with maybe some high school stats and a recruiting video thrown in too. Everyone that's seen Harrow actually PLAY in person however has him much higher in their Top 100 lists.

^^ not in this case... but that would at least be understandable though what we have done the last two seasons I don't expect many people to respect us. Win and that will change, though.

^ WPH is indeed biased, but they're biased in that it's an NC State blog run by NC State alumni for NC State fans. A site like that will always give a more optimistic, positive, glass 1/2 full spin on things.

What WPH doesn't do is throw other teams under the damn bus. They don't go outa their way to bash other teams. You don't see them firing potshots at UNC, Duke, etc.

Jason Jordan on the other hand asked about CJ decommitting and followed up with the following:

1) "So you basically jumped at the 1st offer you got and then came to your senses, right?"

2) "Isn't it true that you decommitted from State b/c your just too good for them (and they suck)?"


As I've said before, the bball team's performance this year is critical. If the team comes together and overachieves, then Lowe should continue to have success bringing in quality players. If not, he might not have a job period.

Wolfpacker has this article on Anali Okoloji, who just attended skills camp. It kinda implies that he may end up here. The issues: (1) hes class of 09 & (2) his SAT is 100 points low. We are out of scholarships right? So would he have to walk on?

If nothing else, the chemistry on this year's team should be a huge improvement.

Interesting he throws out Horner and JT when talking about improvements. Guess that's proof that Lowe plan to start Horner and not one of the new recruits at the PF spot (as he should).

maybe that team really did have some fucked up chemistry issues the past two years. maybe we're better off without them.

fells + grant tried their best, but someone wouldn't let them win the game. mccauley was riding the bench behind evtimov because he couldn't shoot the 3 pointer, hit one out of every 10 scoop shots, and get beat on defense every time down.

Engin wasn't even a full-time PG til his senior year. He was pretty damn good that year though.

Justin Gainey was solid. Four-year starter, all-ACC choice in '99, top-10 in school history in assists. He's the guy that played every minute of every game during the 1997 ACC Tournament (we played four games, so 160 minutes).

I was at this pep rally at the McKimmon Center to welcome Coach Lowe, I think kevmcd was there with some of his friends, and Coach Lowe was introducing the staff. When he came to Gainey he asked him about the 1997 tournament and the legend that he played every minute, but he confessed that he actually came out for 2 minutes in one game.
