hahaha...wooow...this thread blows my mind. so much hate. so much stupidity. did any of you sid haters even watch the game?

our offense sucks. sidney lowe is no offensive mastermind that's for sure. but wtf?

wood and williams, supposedly our best shooters, were 0 for infinity tonight. we were 2 for 18 tonight beyond the arc with all but a few of those being wide open shots. sidney should get blame for not ATTACKING the zone, but had half of those shots gone in we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

and on defense, the team played well. i haven't seen a herb or sid team diving on the floor, hustling after loose balls, pressing their man, as much as our guys did tonight. they just made some stupid mistakes here and there that cost them, but they were largely freshmen mistakes (by freshmen) or mistakes by upperclassmen like javi who played his butt off but just doesn't have the speed to keep up with athletic guards.

but this team is performing almost exactly as i imagined at this point in the season. we'll suck, but we'll play hard. part of me wants to fault sidney for not pushing the ball like he promised, but at the same time, the other part of me doesn't want to see the javi-mays-turnover machine in over their head.

if you guys want to blame sidney for not having adequate talent this far into his tenure here, i'll cede that point. but i'd also call you a moron if you want him gone before he gets one of the best backcourts we have seen.

and if you cite the hickson case as an example of what sidney lowe does with top talent, you need to stfu and realize the headcases he had to deal with in mccauley and costner. practically all of last year's team came out this year and said they were more concerned with scoring 30 a game than whether or not they won. if you haven't noticed the team chemistry we have this year, then you haven't watched a game. imagine the hustle and heart our scrubs show now + brown, harrow, cothron, and a senior in tracy smith.

i'd rather him experiment with different patterns than just leave a shitty one. i think we just had overall chemistry problems with those players. you can blame that on sid too i guess, but i think we've at least gotten over that as a team now.

For "supposive" experts on NC State basketball on here - all I see is lame excuses. You conjure up some BS reason for whatever the problem is when its probably a lot more simple than these fantasies you all come up with.

Then again...what do I know I am just a newb :-) I don't even know the difference btw basketball and football...they both are sports...YAY

actually thats one of his strong points

we had the highest or were in the top 3 in fg% last year because he could come up with plays that exploited the other teams weakness.

Defense has been a liability in the past and it looks like he has really harped on that this year

more active in the passing lanes, rebounding is better than last year but still needs improvement, lots more blocked shots

i think this year at least every player is buying into sid's ideals and truly want what's best for the team. i can't name a single player that i think is entirely selfish and cares more about personal success than team success. that means something. sure, we still have to take the next step from buying into a coach's plan to actually executing it, but we're getting there.

i'm not arguing that maybe there is no coach out there that could have gotten us where we need to be faster than sid, i'm just arguing that i still think sid is a guy that can take us where we all want to go eventually and i think we should continue supporting him. watch one video of ryan harrow or lorenzo brown playing basketball and tell me you aren't excited for our future. sidney has been there as a player, give him time to get back there as a coach.

Please tell me you thought about that before you post...like so many other people have said here...you can have the best recruits but if you can't coach talent then they might as well be 1 star recruits in college.
