How do we know that Archie can do the same thing at a major school that he's doing at a mid-major?? There's a long list of guys who succeeded at mid-majors that failed at major programs.

Gott took a football school to an Elite 8 and a #1 ranking mid-season.

Gott turned around a dumpster fire into a tourney team in one season and is on his way to his fourth straight tourney. Also has a Sweet 16 under his belt at State.

I think you'd have to be either retarded or just a horrible gambler if you'd trade that for Archie right now.

If we're talking gambling outcomes, I think Archie most likely isn't much better than Gott. But there's about an equal chance he's a lot better as there is he's much worse. As gambling goes, I dont know, I'm not a great gambler. I usually lose money if I bet game to game but do well on season over/unders and futures. Budenholzer winning COY would make me 3 grand but I'm down $400 over the last year

I'd rather take the unknown ceiling Doeren hire than whatever the football equivalent of Gott was. Kirk Ferentz if he had been fired for banging Shonn Greene's girlfriend?

My bad. Every female I've ever met (and I) would love to see Fred Hoiberg in the area. As I understand it, female State/Duke/Chapel Hill/St. Aug's/Central grads are all equally comfortable with a Hoiberg placement at State. Like, really, really comfortable with it...very much open to it....in general, more so than any other coach in recent history.

I'd do it with Lefty's zombie though...just puttin' that out there.
