What time/how often do you usually work out? I'd be game for a workout buddy, I've never actually had a real one as my schedule is usually AM lifting when the gym isn't as crowded. I'm usually there 7:30-9:30 as I have a 10:15 class M-F...or I could do 11:30-2:30 MWF & 1-3 T/Th. All day Sat/Sun.
Gonna be switching programs too and haven't landed on a split or routine yet so I'd be game for anything really. Gonna dead lift 500 before summer hits!1/26/2010 6:01:18 AM |

It is my theory that this is the time of year when dogs are coming into heat maybe and thats why Jinzo felt the need to go after every dog he saw around the lake? Anyone has an unaltered female dog and can vouch this?
Anyways met H8r yesterday after running the muddy back trails and continued to run with him around the hellacious hills
Prolly going out there again today 1/26/2010 10:01:36 AM |

question. how much time do you spend doing arms and abs respectfully? just curious.
i am having the hardest time pushing my body into more weight training. i used to be really good about it. now i'm blah. i'm much more of a cardio person.
today will be 40 minutes on the spinning bike (virtual spinning class ftw) and then 20-30 minutes doing arms and abs.1/26/2010 1:49:57 PM |

Are you asking why you're lazy about it... or something? 1/26/2010 1:50:38 PM |
CassTheSass cupid 35382 Posts user info edit post |
i'm far from lazy......i just have lost a lot of motivation in terms of weight training. i rather run or bike or get on the elliptical. i like to hear what other people do and for how often....part of it is motivating and the other part is that i'm just curious. plus Lucy has a killer bod. for Lucy. 1/26/2010 1:54:07 PM |

for cass and rai
I usually just do 5 to 10 minutes of abs. Most of my cardio works my core muscles anyway. Another 10 minutes of arms/shoulders/back. And then usually around 100 lunges and 3-5 minutes of squats.
Crank up the music and get er done. 1/26/2010 2:11:14 PM |

Just start with the bar and make sure your form is proper. And then add on, say, 10 lbs. on either side. Slowly work up.
Want to know how those celebrities have super firm asses? The motherfucking squat, that's how. 1/26/2010 2:27:17 PM |

oh i love squats, lunges, all that stuff. like i said, i used to be really into weight training. but a bad fall off my car last year that tore up my ankle and then my gym closing for 3 months and then being sick so much this year it really has put a damper into my working out.
damn i'm whining.
i'll try some lunges and squats today and see how my ankle feels. it's been pretty tight the past few days with a bit of a sharp tinge. hopefully it just needs to loosen up. or break. whichever comes first. 1/26/2010 2:29:40 PM |

Jinzo and I are running around Lake Johnson when I get home from work... I like the dirt trail before you get to the paved stuff cause its muddy there and once I get done people think I am hard core... cause everything from mid calf and down is cover in mud with splashes on my back side 1/26/2010 2:59:09 PM |

My marathon runner lady friend always talks about how great running is after you push through the pain, and then how the last miles are nothing about pain. Another talks about how when he ran the mile competitively in college, it was about who could push the hardest against pain.
I just don't get it. 1/26/2010 3:02:02 PM |

Yeah I've never encountered runners high, and I run a good bit. I just think some people like it, some people don't, like any other exercises out there. 1/26/2010 3:29:45 PM |

I definitely experience a runner's high from time to time.
I hate weights and prefer cardio, but I love the way weight training makes my body look and feel. Squats for a tight ass (squats with a resistance ball to target abs/ass/legs simultaneously). Lunges for killer thighs. Cable crunches for great abs.
I work out my arms regularly, but I think I get my best arm workout from tennis and from wakeboarding. 1/26/2010 3:45:59 PM |

^ Cardio is important for heart health. Additionally, it helps me sleep better. Otherwise, I have way too much excess energy at the end of the day. 1/26/2010 3:51:38 PM |

But yes, cardio is good conditioning for your heart. It's nice that my heart works less throughout the day doing normal activities because I condition it during my workouts. 1/26/2010 3:58:56 PM |
