Yeh the 3rd place game is always one of the better games to watch. They put some reserves on the field and play offense, unlike in the final where they like to play more defense and pack the box.

this german lineup looks like they aren't particularly invested in the game. i'm gonna have to go 2-1 uruguay.

it means nothing to germany, sure. and i don't doubt them for getting young guys some world cup experience. but i think uruguay would love to finish 3rd in the tournament.

i'm guessing we'll see klose in the 70th minute or so for one last ditch effort at tying ronaldo.

as a keeper, a shaky start can sometimes guarantee a bad game. he's unsure of himself, halfway committing and lacking the confidence to make a stop

^agreed, the rain didn't help. his confidence really took a dip, in my opinion, when he failed to grab that corner kick cleanly, and the ball slipped through his hands. he had already conceded a goal at that point (i believe), and needed a clean grab to bring his confidence back up, and he didn't. he's probably doubting himself now.
