But the UNC fan will have to clean up the bathroom, assuming you tear up the biscuitville facilities.

Speaks to this point:

So if you want to go to a school get an easy degree and stick your nose up in the air because of a name go to carolina.
If you want to go to a school and work your ass off to get a degree then get a job using your degree go to NCSU.

I knew someone that I think was pre-med or may even have already been in med school that was high off his ass or drunk most days that did really well in class.

thats because 80% of unc undergrads receive (yes, receive, not earn) a's and b's. at least they did in 2007, which was up from like 72% in 2000 when they were cited for grade inflation.

they all graduate under the impression that they know everything and they take that attitude into the real world

"One compelling piece of data - 82 percent of the grades issued in fall 2007 to undergrads were As and Bs. That's up from 77 percent in 2000."

NC State whipped me in to shape. UNC does nothing but allow its students to dick around, handing its students a degree with honors so that their school looks better when their alumni apply for jobs. Their graduates are immature and have an unbelievable sense of entitlement that does not help them in the real world. I've had to work my ass off to get my BS degree that I will be receiving in May, and I know that it will pay off in the end.

How long does the appeals process typically last?

Could be years. My answer would be "As long as it takes for UNC to feel like this has left the public consciousness."

Yeah you also gotta remember that carolina has some like ridiculous 4-year graduation rate like 80% too. You look at tech schools like us, va tech and georgia tech and they're around like 35%.

One might look at it and say they have that much better students but I think its more realistic to say the degree requirements are more rigorous. Its a lot easier to pile on 18-21 hours when its an easy A or B instead of the 15 hours of ass kicking math and project courses of an engineering school.

I think they also take fewer hours overall. I talked to a guy who did CS at UNC and he said he only had to take around 100 hours total or so.

I know someone who took Organic chemistry 1 and UNC and tried to take Org II at NCSU over the summer. She ended up dropping the NCSU class and waited to take Org II at UNC in the fall (delaying graduation). She said that the UNC organic chemistry classes covered about half as much material as the NCSU classes.

There's going to be some slant, it should be expected, but any "homerism" isn't shoved in your face like UNC's network. Our guys give honest assessments and dont' cry foul against a bad call unless it is a really atrocious blown call.

My 3 lasting memories of Woody Durham are these:

-Years ago, Sam Aiken was open for a 28 yard pass that would have been a TD, but it was incomplete. Woody got all excited, called it like it was a TD, and went on and on, and then a one second pause, and then says "second and ten, Carolina on the 28 yard line.".

-Never saying the score when UNC is losing.

-Always saying the score when UNC is winning.

I know Woody Durham's been around forever but I don't get why people treat him like some kind of legend when he's been terrible forever too. Andy Rooney has been around forever but nobody's going to miss his old ass

haha. heard NPR jizzin all over Quinn today on the way to the dog park. They said his "accepting two watches from someone he didn't think was an agent" was just "an isolated mistake." nevermind that accepting said watches from ANYONE would have been against NCAA rules. Oh, and the lying about it was also an "isolated mistake." Yep. They said all you needed to know about his "character" was how he fought back from that brain tumour. Cause nothing says "character" like willingly breaking the rules and then lying about it.

I didn't see the OTL report on Marvin Austin today. My brother watched it and he said they asked him if schools offered to pay him during his recruitment, he said that a lot of schools did but UNC did not. I find it hard to believe that Austin would accept several thousand dollars worth of benefits from agents (which he knows is against rules) yet he would base his decision on where to attend school on academics, not who was paying him the most. My brother also said that Austin said being caught taking benefits from an agents was like getting trouble for "setting off firecrackers"...everyone does it, but he just got caught.

i heard something on ESPN Radio a couple nights ago where they interviewed Tits and he did equivocate taking gifts to setting off firecrackers...he also seemed very tightlipped about stuff like when they asked him about what schools offered him what and he said (paraphrasing) "I'm not going to talk about what any other schools offered me"...on the bright side he's learned his lesson from twitter

There's a big difference between accepting gifts from agents and lying about accepting gifts from agents.

But lying about the infraction is always worse than the actual infraction (unless you are Jim Tressel). At least according to the NCAA.
