I like gunning, the TV guided missle is awesome from a good distance away. I've gotten decent at using it. I like picking off people from a distance with it who are running to get in a jet or helicopter.

I'm on Xfire too, as opstand as well. I know I have a bunch of you on here, but feel free to hit me up for a game. I usually play in the evenings around 7pm and sometimes later at night.

^^ Use the radar. If it's a vehicle on your team, it will be blue (or green if they are in your squad). People show up as blue or green dots. If you don't see it on the radar, it's free game.

Although I have to say it isn't foolproof. If there are a bunch of vehicles fighting it out next to each other, it's easy to mix them up. One of my best TV missle kills was a TK...

it's tough to use the radar in a jet though, and it's annoying that lots of air vehicles won't show up red when you put on the crosshairs till it's too late.

OK now im confused

I can log in to the game but when I try to go to any server any play it just says updating server list.

I have tried all types of servers as well. Anyone else having this issue right now?

Is it a EA thing?

with the latest patch i had problems with the single player instant battles until i found out that zonealarm firewall i had installed was fuckin everythin up..it was causing the loading process to freeze and not even be able to Ctrl Alt Del out of it, had to restart the comp manually by pushbutton to get out of it.

It takes forever to install on my computer as well. If you just leave it alone it will install fine. Just takes a long time.

Hey BEU, about how long did it take to install on yours? After it said "Patching, please wait" for like 30-45 mins without any sign of progress I closed it. I guess I could try again and just leave it going for like 5 hours but I really don't want to have to re-install the game if it messes up.

btw are most of the servers compatible with the new version? I have found that most of the servers I visit work fine with the original version, does that mean that they wouldn't work with the new one? In fact the ranked servers are the only ones I have found that require the new version.

new version and ranked servers have worked just fine for me ever since I patched - if you are worried about whether or not there are enough servers.. there are plenty for every map as far as I can tell

then again.. I can't seem to get away from Karkand

Ok wtf something is up with the rankings at that main site. I haven't been able to play any ranked games because I haven't been able to install the latest patch, yet I still have stats on the site. I have been playing for ~3 weeks now and have played lots of games, but the stats only show four games...? The last time it says I played was July 19 but I know for a fact that I played last Friday and just about every day between them.

because I'm in the planes all the time, I get a disproportionate amount of accidental TK's. I don't mean to kill you, you just happen to be standing right next to a tank thats lit up like a xmas tree on my HUD.

there are several tips in this thread as to how to avoid and counter planes.

#1 counter is a decent pilot. If I'm flying against a decent pilot, I'm usually to busy trying to not get my ass lit up to focus on bombing and reloading.

i have a general question...how do i take down tanks? rocker launcher doesnt do much good, bullets dont do jack, and the anti-tank units's weapon takes several shots. usually they leave or kill you before you hit a tanks with several hits

also, is their a way to fire the gun on a buggy? i can only sit in the driver seat.
