I'm glad Jim didn't show up. That is, I wanted him to save the day too... but he didn't. And Pam had nothing but brutal honesty to face, calling her out for basically being too timid with life. And she had to embrace this truth by herself and alone, for the most part.

I'm a big fan of the times Michael seems to appear human, though. I could have shed a tear in that scene with him and Pam.

I saw it as Roy trying to "fix things", but unable to really understand things deeper than at a superficial level. It was more of a "if I do this..." task for him than a "why this is important to her" understanding. I don't really like how he's so unevenly written this season.

Final thought.. I'm not really sure if I believe the things Michael believes.. the goodness he wanted to exude about the sales business... the very personal nature of it all. But I guess it doesn't matter.. the important thing is that he believes in it.

i still think they messed up by making karen hotter than pam. it doesn't really make me root for jim and pam as much. if i was jim, i'd stay with karen. see the picture of her in the new entertainment weekly if you disagree with me (can't find it online). in the british version, their version of this character wasn't bad looking, but dawn was still more appealing.
