diet pills are for strong minded people that want that extra edge on top of their hard work with dieting and cardio. weak minded people that take diet pills in an attempt to lose weight won't get any benefit out of them.

In that book I jsut read they said the body wants to be at it's ideal weight. Obviously, a body suffers when overweight, so all you have to do is eat the right foods.

They also say a diet led by will power will never work, if you listen to what your body is telling you, you can use food to fight with you not against you. Like know when a food you're eating is hurting you or when you are actually full. It's ok to make mistakes as long as that one cheeseburger doesn't lead you down a slippery slope of failure, just make a u-turn!

I love it, it describes in simple ways the way the body works, why it stores fat, which it uses first, how to use foods to our advantage. The only reason we eat food is for energy, learn to cut the emotional eating. Enjoy the flavors but do it in a natural way, no saturated fats, no trans fats.

I could keep going....

I was looking at before and after pictures, I've lost a ton!

From looks and feel, I'm down to the weight I usually get at during the summer, even if the scale doesn't say so. Awesome.

Maybe when I've lost all I want to.

I didn't realize just how big I got until I saw it in the pictures. It really does make a difference, gah damn.

I dont think I came in here since seeing the nutritionist.

Basically she said for me to be taking at least 10,000 steps per day and to be wearing a pedometer. About 20 minutes should spent walking, with intent of working out, (ie: raising my pace and heart rate). Also, to cut my calorie intake to 1500. I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks.

I've lost 15 lbs. so far. It's beena slow and steady process but I'm getting there. I don't count calories but I eat less processed foods. I'm not awesome on my diet, I eat ice cream sometimes, but it's much better than before. I take supplements to insure I get the essential vitamins. I workout but the last few weekends I've skipped it because my job HAS been my workout. I feel I deserve the break after the long days I've been having, I allow it because I'm still losing weight, I'm going at least four days a week with two of those being resistence and I know I'll be back to a normal schedule afterwards.

I love to do things naturally, like they were supposed to be done before science and technology intervened. Our bodies are supposed to be fit, cavmen and women didn't count calories or shit like that. They ate way better foods but more importantly they exercised to get that food. Keeps my life simple. Just having the freedom to eat what I want makes me not want to eat it whereas before I felt I could never have chocolate again so I'd splurge on it one day and ruin my whole idea od dieting. Not anymore!

Omg blog.

You don't really change your diet to mantain a certain weight do you? Just keep eating the same foods... Or maybe slightly more so you don't keep losing?

I've lost about 5 pounds this week. Working 15 hour days and not having time to eat drops the weight off like you can't believe.

My legs are killing me, we really worked them yesterday. Would it be better to do cardio through the pain now or give it a day's rest? If I do workout it has to be now/soon because my day is booked the rest of it.

take a break and let your legs heal. they'll be even more sore tomorrow, but try to work through the pain and do light cardio tomorrow instead.

kiwi, 15 lbs is awesome!!! congrats!
I wish I could afford a personal trainer. It's hard to stay motivated. I started taking some dietary supplements to help with my weight loss endeavor. So far they are working great and I have boat loads of energy.

I wanna see some pictures soon!

Thanks! I'm pretty pissed at myself for slacking these last two weekends but that just shows how important this is to me. Now that my hectic work schedule is over I can go back to normal and watch the weight slide off.

I take a multi vitamin and fish oil supplement. I feel great, lots of energy and general good health.

I am buying more personal trainer sessions, I enjoy it, it keeps me motivated and ensures I do the workouts the correct way. Awesomeness.

Is a stationary bike as effective as the elliptical? I'm tired of the elliptical and know I'm not getting a great workout from it now so I need to switch things up. I'll probably do the Jacob's Ladder but I last ten minutes at most on that damn thing.

HALP!

i lost 100 lbs, but it took me over two years.

if running is too high impact, use a cross-trainer. they burn more calories anyhow. i go to Planet Fitness - they have a special now to join for $10/month.

and what everyone else said - don't eat after 8pm, no refined carbs, lean meats, do light weights/high reps... etc, etc.

Cross trainer, is that the skiing type one? I did the elliptical and just sucked it up, then went to sit down bike which fucks my ass muscles (HELLS YEAH) then onto that ski thing, don't know what it's called.

I haven't had dinner yet so I'll be eating after 8pm!!!
