i think people who jump around a lot are really easy targets...you can't change directory in mid air and you have horrible hang time where i can take my time to line up the shot and no scope your face

but, i no scope people's face anyway

in halo 2 the hardest kills were the people who zigzagged back and forth when trying to take them down with a battle rifle, especially when going head to head. thankfully didn't see that too often

i mean 1v1 in close range. since i started doing that (at least at this level) i always seem to outlast the other guy's shields/health

if it works go for it, it can be hard to coordinate close quarters combat if you're jumping over their head, but usually people will have a hard time turning around fast enough, especially at low levels.

the moving target also probably doesn't help their aim, but most seasoned players won't have much trouble

In the campaign, melee was about the best way to take out large groups of brutes when you were close to them, at least on Heroic difficulty. Especially if you had a bubble sheild, or they used a bubble sheild. It made things much easier.

Just throw down the bubble sheild right in the midst of the brutes, step inside and start punching them, the ones inside will try to melee with you, and the ones outside can't hit you until they step inside.

Of course, this doesn't work when one of them has a hammer.

For this reason, bubble shield is my favorite equipment by far (besides invincibility, which I only found once on level 2).

i have flash backs and bad experiences with attempting melee in halo 2 campaign where elites would smack the hell out of you, so i keep my distance, lol

i like the deployable shield, but i wish it stopped grenades

^Me n' my buddies had that trouble last night, we think it has something to do with the router and how it isn't "Microsoft compatible" or some nonsense like that. It was just slow as hell, and then the game would restart the search for players even after finding the right amount of people.

Wow. This game has blown me away. They have corrected damn near everything that was wrong with Halo 2. The campaign is fun as hell. It's hard, but they are very generous with checkpoints this time, so it's not NEARLY as frustrating at Halo 2's campaign. Sure, snipers still kill you in one hit, but it seems more fun this time around than tedious. Instead of being forced to use one combo to survive in parts of Halo 2 like I did (plasma pistol and rifle), you actually have options here that work. The Legendary AI is utterly brilliant. You can't just stay in one spot anymore and kill everyone and retreat to recharge your shields. If you're shield is down, they WILL move around to find a vantage point on you since the levels are much more open this time around. Especially the flying guys. You really have to choose cover wisely in the campaign. They finally added the range back to the grenade throw they took out in Halo 2. The multiplayer has been improved so it's no longer who fires first who wins, but who fires SMART. I know it seems odd seeing that in Halo 3 you die a hell of a lot easier, but I have been in countless fights online where I was being fired upon only to turn around and become a victor through tactics, and vice versa. It's fucking great. And the matchingmaking works wonders. Anybody who has doubts about the new controls, they are fucking flawless. Be prepared to hit X a lot thinking you'll reload. That's not a problem, however. That's probably from just playing Halo 1 and 2 a lot. And the new weapons and grenades are SICK. The Flamethrower is up there, but the best weapon of all time has to be the Gravity Hammer. The only thing that I wish they had done was enable you to search xbox live for custom games, or join forge matches online rather than having to invite friends.
