I can't see how they can kill off adama for the rest of the season. I can see him dying and resurrecting though, although that would be a tad lame.

I don't think Roslin is strong enough of a character to make up for adama's absence.

the one thing battlestar galatica trailers almost always do is make you believe something is going to happen that doesnt actually materialize.

Same thing the previews for Damages.

That episode didn't really answer questions. We learned more about the overall story in the preview for next week than we did in that entire episode.

But it was entertaining at least. I would not have thought an FTL drive would be so mechanical in nature though.

^^ you didn't notice that gaetta's contingent of armed troops was relatively small and had guns on all the bridge crew to keep them doing shit? or that most of crew was locked up and you could hear them yelling to be let out in the background of a bunch scenes?

That was a pretty nice touch with the itch in his leg at the end. I'd give this episode a 8/10. Sure, maybe it didn't further the plot very much, but it wrapped up the loose end of when-are-they-finally-going-to-execute-zarek, and now that the quorum is dead the whole fleet pretty much has to listen to roslin now and will stop crying for the last 6 episodes. It sets us up for a really clean finale honestly.

And some character development with Baltar realizing he's a pussy.

One thing... what happened to Starbuck and Anders? Did they make it to Cottle in time? Anders looked pretty helpless, my guess is that he dies in the next episode, but is reborn with Ellen in Resurrection Ship Mark II

Also, did you notice the CG man in the hangar deck and Colonial One docking? It was the first shot of the episode. Totally new. Also all the shots of Tyrol in the jefferies tubes and in FTL Control were new sets. FTL control was mostly CG obviously. What was up with Chief looking at the scrape mark on the FTL control wall?

I will be very surprised if anyone of any significance dies before the season finale. If any of the five, any of the main characters die I will be shocked. With the season finale being 3 hours long I wouldn't be surprised for a ton of people dying there, but I'd be willing to be the next few episodes are going to be less action more story to set up the finale.

It could also be a setup for retiring Galactica at the end of the series. Say something like "ship can only make a dozen or so more jumps," find a convenient place to restart civilization, and Galactica finally collapses or sacrifices itself in a blaze of glory to wrap it all up.

Can't believe there isn't any discussion about last nights episode yet. Was there really any significance in introducing an 8th cylon? It seems the only purpose it had was to have Starbuck think she was a cylon for 5 minutes and maybe helped convince Boomer to go against Cavil. I really hope it turns out that one of the Daniel's survived, otherwise thats going to be pretty pointless. Although then the speculation would start about who it is, Gaius would probably be the most obvious choice. Overall I thought it was a good episode, answered a ton of questions and is setting up a huge showdown between the Cylons that the humans will be stuck in the middle of. It will be interesting to see where they go with the biological matter inside the ship.. I really hope Tyrul isn't playing Adama.

Last night's episode was great. You feel for Adama as he is internalizing a lot of this "Cylons are no different from humans" situations the fleet is forced to accept. 1st his XO, then Chief being back as Chief, and now giving us Galactica to be "part Cylon". When in the end Galactica was the one thing that was truly the antithesis of the Cylon race.

And is it me, or do you find Ellen Tigh to be a certified bad ass now? They took her character and made her go from whiny power selfish to almighty benevolent peacemaker...and nailed it. I find it even more remarkable how the writers made her to seem like an older Six.

They said Daniel's amniotic fluid was screwed with by Cavil, which probably made him into a her - Starbuck. A cute twist reference to the old show, when Starbuck was a dude.

They said Daniel was an artist, and understood the world around him so well, or something, which would explain Starbuck's paintings pretty well, too, not to mention her coming back from the dead. I think that will end up being what the deal is

That was John Hodgman, yes, and I Thought he was a perfect pick for that part. He's been a character actor, book editor, and author for a very long time. He's not just "a guy from the daily show" or from the mac ads. That's just the main thing he's known for.
