Jeff Wilkins, and I always take Dome kickers if their close in quality, always nice to have perfect kicking conditions for at least 8 games a year

back to Seattle vs. Tampa, don't forget Marcus Tubbs is out for the season now.

Last year he missed 11 games, the Seahawks gave up 4.8 ypc (147/game), in the 5 games he played they gave up 3.9 ypc (82/game)

More of a big deal for their real-life D than fantasy D, but it still sucks for them and for Marcus

a.) Isn't Olsen hurt?
b.) He's the #2 TE on that team

Oh and the guy who dropped Jason Witten in bkhardee's league was me, haha, but it's no big deal, the autodraft gave me Gates, Tony G, and Vernon Davis so I'm solid at TE, haha.

who should I play at defense

Oak (vs Det)
SF (vs Ari)

or pick up the Jets (vs NE)

Should I play Ladell Betts or Joey Galloway or Mike Furrey at the flex position?

No one's available (we can play 4 WR). Other than Colbert as a #2, it's a bunch of 3+ guys or noobs. Here are the first few by yahoo ranking:

Marcus Robinson
Mark Bradley
Bobby Engram
Reche Caldwell
Bryant Johnson
Travis Taylor
Patrick Crayton

I'm in a big league, though, so I don't even think any guy out there is worth losing my waiver spot. Just considering my options.

Portis hasn't played all pre-season, is coming off an injury, and Betts has shown flashes.

So yeah you gotta go with Barber.

Adrian Peterson vs. Atlanta (in his RBBC of course)
OR
Marshawn Lynch vs. Denver

Its tough because Peterson is sharing carries but had a vastly better preseason.
Though Lynch will get the majority of the carries in his game.

Who to start??

Peterson.

Lynch is in a RBBC as well with the A-Train, and no one has been impressed with his Preseason. Not to mention to the fact that Buffalo will be playing staunch run defense in denver, while Minnesota and their awesome O-line will dominate the Falcons weak front four.

Start Peterson.

Should I start Santonio Holmes, Issac Bruce, or CJ in week 1?

I'm assuming CJ means Calvin Johnson (not Chad Johnson, lol)?

If that's the case, start Santonio. They will be airing it out and I am hesitant to start Bruce or Johnson until their offenses get some issues sorted out. Both Bruce and Bulger had a terrible preseason and aknowledged that the offense had a long way to go...

...and we all know the issues that surround Calvin and him being deemed a bench player for the time being.

Santonio is a deep threat and a #2 WR. He should have a great matchup this weekend.

Go with Holmes, mang.

Drew Brees, start him tonight?

I know the Colts have lost a lot of defensive players, and I'm contemplating between starting him and being fooled by the Colts defense or sitting him and he goes off. I have Romo as my backup, and I like his chances against the Giants D on Sunday night. I feel it's a win-win either way, but let me know what you all think.

So I've got Carson Palmer (plays Bal) and Alex Smith (plays Ari), and I'm thinking of starting Smith....any suggestions?

Also, Marshawn Lynch, DeA, or Jerious Norwood for the #2 RB start? (i'm leaning towards DeA against the Rams)

[Edited on September 6, 2007 at 10:10 AM. Reason : ^i'd say brees, that game is likely to be a shootout.]

^I say you do start Smith. I never try to go against the Ravens D, aging or not.

I would start DeAngelo Williams, but Norwood isn't a bad choice.

I have Laveranues Coles, Santonio Holmes, and Brandon Marshall at WR. One of these 3 will have to sit. Torry Holt is my other receiver, but he isn't sitting. Which one should sit Sunday?

This is my 1st year, and this is my team:

QB: Carson Palmer
RB: Laurence Maroney
RB: Willis McGahee
WR: Torry Holt
WR: Santonio Holmes
WR: Laveranues Coles
TE: Tony Gonzalez
K: Stephen Gostkowski
DST: Ravens

Bench:
Tony Romo, Brandon Jackson, Brandan Marshall, Owen Daniels, Raiders DST

My opponent this week:
QB: Vince Young
RB: Reggie Bush
RB: Cadillac Williams
WR: Isaac Bruce
WR: Joey Galloway
WR: TJ Houshmanzadeh
TE: Jeremy Shockey
K: Jason Elam
DST: Cowboys

Bench:
Steve McNair, Deshaun Foster, Matt Jones, Terry Glenn, Zach Miller

I'm predicted to win 92-78.

Should I start Terry Glenn in any facet this week? I am hearing that he's going to play on Sunday night, and since Calvin Johnson is not going to start, is it a good play to sit him against the best pass defense in the league? Let me know, Panthro.

BTW, my other receivers are Marques Colston and Anthony Gonzalez.

Panthro I posed this question yesterday, but I'm still torn and would like some of your insight:

I'm going to start Travis Henry as my RB1, who should I go with as my RB2:

Thomas Jones vs. NE
Lamont Jordan vs. Detroit
Fred Taylor vs. Tenn

Also have the same problem as mentioned earlier about Terry Glenn. I have Vincent Jackson and Santonio Holmes as my #2 and 3 WR this week. Should I bench any of them in place of Terry Glenn or leave it?

^ Leave Glenn out. Jackson and Holmes should have pretty productive weeks this week.

Glenn's injury appears to be one that will linger. I would keep him benched until he gives you a reason to do otherwise.

^^ DROD900, Yes, you absolutely start Henry as your #1. My rankings for the other three would go as follows.

1) Lamont Jordan - The Raiders O-line isnt looking all that bad so far. Add that to the fact the Detroit's Defense is suspect and sporatic at best, and I can see Lamont getting 100 combined yards and at least 1 TD. Those factors combined with Detroits propensity to turn the ball over, and Jordan should have plenty of chances to produce. I honestly think he will be a steal for those who drafted him this year.

2) Fred Taylor - Yes Maurice Jones-Drew will take carries from him, and yes, this is still fragile freddy we are talking about. But keep in mind that he is still the starter on a run first team and has been explosive and healthy last year and this preseason. I think the defense of the Jags will sufficate the Titans offensive attack. While it wont be a blowout, the 10 point lead or so that the Jags have will lead to lots of touches for Freddy. All injury knocks aside, when Taylor is healthy, you can almost assure that he will have at least one long run.

3) Thomas Jones - I have yet to be impressed with both Thomas Jones and the Jets Offense as a whole this preaseason. I expect New England to get at least two quick scores on the Jets, and force Mangini to play Leon Washington in passing situations out of the backfield more than he would have originally planned, which is saying alot, considering Jones' injury and that they were already planning on limiting Jones' carries this week. I dont see him as a good play this week.

Go with Jordan. I think you will be pleasantly suprised.

- The Guru

EDIT: gg, TreeTwista10, I didn't see your reply on the last page to DROD900's question.

Quote :
"I'd say Henry and I'd probably take Jordan over Jones this week, just because New England's defense is strong and Detroit's isn't...although Henry and Jones wouldn't be a bad choice either

Morency might not play week 1 and if he does he'll be splitting carries with Brandon Jackson against a pretty good Philadelphia defense...Taylor is going against a bad Tennessee defense but sharing carries with Jones-Drew"

A guru in the making?

ok so i need a QB, I have Big Ben and Sexy Rexy, however neither are true passers

I made a trade proposal for Drew Brees to trade for Rex and J Cotch

the guy has hardly any good WRs, think its a do-able trade?

i made another offer for Big Ben and Leon Washington in trade for Carson Palmer, guy has no good backup RBs and we go 2 RB strong

I would still have henry, parker westbrook and marion barber(count in washington and I have a stable)

think any of them will go thru?

unless he's stupid, you're going to have to offer him atleast a strong #2 RB or #2 WR in addition to one of the QB's.

give up Henry and Big Ben for Brees and a lesser RB. Getting Henry in the 5th was an ungodly steal. Since you cant start three RB's, you should dangle Henry to anyone that has a QB that interests you.

After this weekend when Henry torches the Bills, I am sure the trade proposals about him will skyrocket.

yea I had a hell of a draft from a RB standpoint

I may do that, although henry may be one of my stronger backs

think a trade for barber may be possible instead??

id hate to get rid of Henry, then again if its for a QB like Brees or Palmer I wouldnt mind.

I can understand the hesitation, but you arent going to get what you want for MB3.

If you want a top player, you have to be willing to part with one. It's in your favor though, since you have three top RB's.

Ask yourself which is better, having three great RB's and not being able to play one and having to start a less than stellar QB, or having two great RB's and an awesome QB that you start every week?
