"we'll be a C+ defense in ncaa08."

Oh damn, we are going to be an average defense in a video game, we will never win anything next year.

You can't compare what chuck had coming in to what we have this year...that's absurd

Our OLine is TERRIBLE...do you even watch games? 4 of our defensive players get taken in the 1st round of the NFL draft and how many games did we win? Chuck had the talent, he had the chance to do a halfway coaching job and at least get us ranked. I mean how do you have that much talent and aren't even ranked?

In honor of Earl's return to flaming the Sports Talk, I'll bring back his annoying arguing style. Fact.

Quote :
"thats all what building a program is. sure he didn't build a powerhouse or anything but he created the foundation. NCState never won 10 games and was never ranked #11 to end a season. Also don't forget we had key injuries to cotchery, ta and a few more starters towards the end of the season (so if you're going to talk injuries now keep it a 2-way street)"

NC State was ranked #4 with the "White Shoes Defense." Fact.

TA was ALWAYS injured. He never practiced and was a strain on the program. Everyone except you was glad to see him leave. Fact.

Quote :
"The most important piece of building a program is giving the fans hope and getting attention nationally. Chuck amato put ncstate football on the map and theres no denying that. He also changed the attitude and mindset of Raleigh. He's responsible for our stadium being nice and having nice fascilities instead of a few empty bleachers and hills. He made the wolfpack nation care about football. He filled the stands with people that actually believed we would be perennial acc contenders. The media believed also. Thats how you build a program. He just didn't take it to that next level. "

It's true Amato generated a buzz in the program. His efforts led to the upgrades in the program that included stadium expansions and facility upgrades. We do owe Chuck our gratitude for that. Fact.

But, he didn't take us to the next level. With his own players, Chuck led State to 5-6, 7-5, and 3-9 seasons. The program was ranked near the bottom of the NCAA in penalties and turnover margins. Amato lost to UNC three years in a row. He also poorly represented the program when speaking to the media. His shenanigans made us the laughing stock of the ACC. Fact.

You can argue TOB isn't the solution, but Amato deserved to be fired. Fact.

Quote :
"Herb and TOB are great coaches when it comes to building and sustaining a program but they are never going to get you to "that" level. I'll take high risk reward failure over guaranteed mediocrity any day."

Sendek and TOB were brought in to address image and discipline issues. Sendek left after it was clear we weren't getting over the hump. True our AD didn't have the balls to fire him, but Sendek did need to go. If TOB plateaus like Sendek did, he should be replaced too.

However, TOB has a much different situation at NC State than he did at BC. You cannot honestly assume he'll produce the exact same results here that he had at BC. Fact.

Quote :
"The qb failed him and thats the only reason he's gone. I'll say it again. "

You're ignoring the turnover margin, the penalties, and the fact that Chuck was responsible for (1) recruiting the QBs, and (2) coaching the QBs. If you can't recruit the right guy, nor can you coach them, who's fault is it? Yours. Fact.

"Okay I know you are trolling but SHUT THE FUCK UP.

If Chuck made Rivers, how come Davis, Stone, Evans, Beck, Burke suck ass?

Norm Chow made Philip Rivers. I mean PR was awesome as a freshmen. He didn't need that much coaching.

"

so chuck doesn't get any credit for developing rivers....yet all the blame for stone being overated due to his league in pennsylvania. Chuck beat out notre dame for marcus stone and like i said, jamarcus russel, and dennis dixon were similarly rated.

Do you really think things would have been the same if we had a qb the caliber of dixon or russel to go along with a great running game and the nations best defense?

Davis beck burke and evans aren't supposed to be good. Also, evans performed much better under chuck than he is under tob. Lets just forget all about how close our losses were and how good evans looked vs bc and fsu.

Quote :
"I mean how do you have that much talent and aren't even ranked?"

no qb. and its not like he didn't recruit one. he just got the shiny apple that happened to be rotten on the outside. trade stone for dixon and oregon wouldnt be ranked the last 2 years.

notre dame wanted stone and settled for brady quinn

no c is BAD in the game. average is b. duke is b- on d. i know its a video game but it does portray how much talent we are losing and true freshman are rarely good.

Against MD his senior year, Cotchery must have been hurt because :

Quote :
"Jerricho Cotchery went over the 100-yard mark for the 14th time in his career with six catches for 102 yards for the Wolfpack (7-5, 4-4). "

and against UVA:

Quote :
"7-111"

and at least one TD.

Amazing what you can find on the intarweb. Cotchery also went over 100 in those 2 games the year before. 108 and 144 I think.

Okay I see it now. It's fairly obvious in his posts.

phenom=Earl=Aristotle=socrates

All their posts are very similar. Plus he alludes to Duke in lots of posts. Like how they are B- defense in NCAA 2008 and how he is using them on that game in dynasty mode. A troll/alias who is on his 4th name.
