it's amazing how bad noon raycom games are.

it's like watching ants crawl on florescent lights.

I was told they had the field painted, and due to the water based paint it washed off? The white was done with Aerosol cans prior to the game.

But that's what I heard

yeah supposedly they didn't paint it because they figured it wash off with the rain and by the time it quit raining, the grass would still need to have been cut and was too late to paint.

it's one thing when it rains during the game or even the day of the game. But with it raining 3 days straight, it's a slightly different story.

one thing i just remembered.

in 03 when we beat UVA in Carter Finley, one of the first plays of the game for Virginia was a snap over the head of Schaub. And the game on saturday, the first play of the game was a snap over the head of Sewell. pretty neat

speaking of, for those of us who couldn't watch the game. were the snaps good for us Saturday? most of the season they have been at Evans' feet

every single snap used to be at Evans' shins, now they're on the money.

It seems like you see a lot of snaps over the QB or punter's head of the visiting team at the beginning of our home games. I think Carter-Finley is underrated, and centers/QBs get a little caught offguard and rattled. Specifically, the first snap in shotgun over the App QB's head that went into the endzone from the 20 comes to mind.

Actually, we didn't even rush. Whether by threat of arrest/pepper spray or simple discipline, the students actually got this one right.

i might be crazy, but it seemed like the team only faced and thanked the SEZ section near the band, not the 7/8section

I don't know how people can still be all over Evans sack...it's ok to give credit where credit is due, and he's played extremely well, making huge improvements, and deserves some credit. Other people have already pointed it out, and someone who was critizing him was talking about stats not meaning anything, and we should be watching the game...Are you watching the games?

Evans was looking off recievers, checking down, and making great hot reads, and overall doing much better of getting rid of the ball. He's reading defenses better, holding safties and helping to create the 1v1 matchups down the field.

I'm not saying all the glory goes to Evans, the entire team has showed huge improvement, and I think that should say a lot about TOB and what we've been doing this year. But get off Evans sack and give the man some credit for playing well.

Virgina may not be great, but they definitly aren't a shitty team...they are UConns only loss this year (who is number 1 in the Big East knocking off both USF and Rutgers so far).

Am I thinking of the same sack as you? If so, I think you might have missed the meaning of the expression. I do agree with you though that he has played well the last two games, but it has been against some pretty weak secondaries so I'm trying to keep my optimism in check.

They might not be the 15th ranked team in the country but their D is legit and we played a great game against them.

I'm not sure about thanking, but TOB always makes the team wait and stand facing the band while they play the Alma Mater after each game, so that's probably what you're thinking of.

I just watched the game from my DVR yesterday (was at the game). Did anyone see the kicker rough up Bowens and grab him by his face mask after making the hit on the kickoff return? You have to give him props for making a tackle like that as a kicker, but I'll be pulling for Wake to blindside him on a block this week for that crap.

I didn't see a facemask, but that fucking kicker did put a hell of a hit on bowens and knocked the damn ball out too. luckily he was close to the sidelines.

No, it was a good clean hit. It was reminiscent of Todd Saurbraun (sp?) at WVU. He didn't grab the facemask until Bowens was lying on the ground after the play, and he grabbed the facemask while talking smack and threw his head into the ground. Blackman saw it and was calling for a flag.

Quote :
"Homecoming a time to show our pride, not our intolerance

I have to say, that despite the rainy and drab weather, Homecoming Week turned out to be a fun experience yet again, and the game was a killer good time. The Pack Howl Pep Rally and Concert was a good event to start the weekend. I hate that we missed out on enjoying the parade this year, but as strong as the Pack is, we can't compete with mother nature.

The student entrance line seemed to move a little faster this game which made the game get off to a good start for students. The band got the crowd going and the weather could not have been better. However, some fans attitudes could have been much better. Sitting in the student section, I was rather disappointed and disturbed by my fellow students yelling and chanting "UV-GAY" half the game and calling the referees and Cavaliers "faggots." Earlier in the week, the Technician reported the vandalism that occured on a homecoming banner that read "Crush the Cavs" and was painted to say "Crush the Gays."

NCSU students should act honorable and represent the University with pride at ALL times, but especially during Homecoming. We host large crowds of parents and alumni, and Homecoming is meant to be a chance to show our "true colors," red and white, not levels of hate and intolerance.

I love football, and I love the competition and rivalry it brings. However, do we really want to portray ourselves like that? Yelling derogatory slurs not only demeans us as students but as a university as well. While we are a largely agricultural and engineering school, we have a very large and diverse campus. It is a big, hurtful slap in the face to the GLBT population on campus that stand behind our athletic department and marching band and attends the games the same as everyone else to enjoy and show our support. We should stand united as a campus, not divided.

Our sportsmanship and our tolerance should reflect the true nature of N.C. State, and not one of introlerance and bigotry. I hope that the University as a whole can work together to bridge the gap of diversity awareness and acceptance and that students can learn that lowering ourselves to the level of what I saw at Saturday's game is a big step in the wrong direction.

hmm...I'm pretty sure we were chanting You Are Gay everytime UVA would start their chant. Please to stay home for the carolina game in 2 weeks to protect your ears.
