I don't think the guy sets out to troll. He enjoys making his right leaning points. The problem comes in when people expose him for his lack of logic ability and his general disregard for any modicum of debate normals. He gets bored with trying to defend his position with reasonable arguments, and slowly regresses his replies into more and more absurd statements. This is how he has survived in this section for so long. The transition from halfway reasonable to ludicrous is subtle, and he refrains from being a full on asshole until someone else calls him out first. That, and he has the backing from duke because they are both non democrats, and well, you have a recipe for a waste of everyones time.
