This team was NIT bound last year. Then we lost our most experienced and only PG and add another big man to the team and we're supposed to go from 10th in the ACC to 3rd, all based on the last 5 or 6 games of last season? Give me a break. We haven't improved from last year therefore we're just another NIT team this year. But when we hired Sid, we knew we were going to take our lumps for the next 2 or 3 years. So calm the hell down. If you think Sid could turn this program around after 1.5 years, it ain't happening and it won't happen until he can find that one PG that can emulate his own passion and playmaking abilities on the floor. Two or three years from now, if we're still like this, then you can gripe and moan all you want. But until then,

The style of game we play ain't gonna work with our personnel. We have no team chemistry which falls on the coach and certain players who pout. We coulda had MJ and scottie pippen on the court and still have gotten beat because we have no teamwork. Everything is 1 on 1

yeah i mean it's obvious sid's coaching job this year has been pretty pathetic. but i'm not ready to give up on him. but i'm not ready to automatically give him 10 years like we did herb.

and this isolation crap is....crap. the offense has gotta change (and so do the substitutions...i still can't believe simon harris didn't get any meaningful playing time) but i'm holding out hope that sidney won't be so arrogantly stubborn like herb was...and that sid will actually learn from his mistakes

its the coach's job to get them to play as a team. you cant teach talent, but you can teach teamwork.

a good coach doesn't need to have "his" players to succeed, as long as the talent is there.

he got jj and he's the hardest worker on the floor.

and he got tracy smith who works hard and gives it everything he's got when he ever sees the floor (of course i blame sid for not letting him see it more...at least in games like today when everyone else is stinking it up so badly)

then he shouldnt be on the floor. i believe that a team's attitude and motivation is a direct reflection of the coach. i don't care how focused and energetic sidney is on the bench if the team doesn't exhibit those same qualities.

a coach needs to exert control and authority over the team....and it doesn't look like sidney has that right now. the team pretty much does whatever they want out there.

but you can't say that omg sidney is underachieving with such awesome talent while at the same time admitting that this talent has serious issues that are more detrimental to the team than helpful.

i think everyone just overestimated the talent we had last year b/c they played 40 minutes a game and had inflated stats and then went on a hot streak to close the season.

Look at how bad we did last year without Atsur when he was hurt.....we just look terrible without a PG and Javi and Johnson look scared to death to dribble.


Plus right now Costner is cold as fuck and McCauley is struggling as well.

I think the pre-season hype is what is making this hurt worse.

i dont think its the talent thats detrimental to the team, i think its the attitudes....something the coach has a direct impact on.

maybe everyone did overestimate the talent on the team, but we've all seen how they can play when they are motivated. we arent a top 10 team, but we are better (talent wise) then the way we've looked this season.

The only thing I'll agree with is that our AD is apparently a piece of crap. A winning program seems to have 1 of 2 types of ADs to be successful - a sleazeball, like say, Baddour, who just throws cash in any direction he sees fit or a legitimate know-what-it-takes-to-be-a-winner-and-gets-it-done like I can think Osborne from Nebraska may be or know something about.
