I'd like to see Bouwmeester come back for him, and Florida get hosed on another trade. Seriously though, who waives a NTC to go to Fla?

Somebody who doesn't give a shit about hockey anymore and doesn't want to have a million fans hounding him every day and just wants to lay on the beach all day.

Yep, sounds about right.

kind of OT, but I work the proshop at the iceplex, and Brind Amour and Laviolette were in there the other day because their kids were doing Raleigh Youth training. Laviolette asked me if I had any vasoline (no homo).

Only one Hurricanes game -- March 9 vs. the Rangers -- will be televised on Versus this season, the NHL announced Thursday.

If you are on Flickr, please join this group http://flickr.com/groups/canes/

The other Canes groups are all dead and their owners MIA, so I decided to create my own.

I can make you a mod too.

How so? I think JR is full of shit on this issue of trying to press guys like him to go to Plymouth just because Karmanos owns the team. If he wants to play in college he should play in college. It will be fine for his development.

It would be cool if they played an exhibition game in Greensboro, Charlotte, or Fayetteville like NBA teams just to get some exposure outside the triangle. Maybe even somewhere in SC since they are the "Carolina" Hurricanes. NC is a pretty big state, obviously.

It would be pretty cool to do it in Charlotte. I don't think Fayetville would work, although Crown is a pretty nice arena.

I wouldn't be opposed to them playing a preseason game out there. I'm ready to start tailgating in the employee lot with a cool refreshing beer in my hand.

"Rowe's death 'heart-breaking'

Tags: Lord Stanley's Blog | Julia Rowe

Hurricanes players and staff members were saddened today to learn of the death of Julia Rowe, the young girl whose battle with leukemia proved so inspiring to the team during its run to the Stanley Cup in 2006.
Rowe, a neighbor of Canes coach Peter Laviolette, was the impetus behind the "relentless" motto that the team adopted during the playoffs. Laviolette sold wristbands to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Eastern N.C. Rowe's family donated bottles of Shafer's Relentless wine to Laviolette — signed by Rowe, then 6 years old — to give to players who epitomized that motto.

"It's always sad to see a young kid go through that she had to go through," captain Rod Brind'Amour said. "To me, the thing that's most sad is she was in tough shape for a long time. Obviously our thoughts go out to her family."

Canes forward Justin Williams and his wife are friends of Julia's parents, and he praised Julia's determination and spirit.

"It's really heart-breaking for someone so young to go so early," Williams said. "In her own way, she was a part of the team. She really touched our lives. It's an extremely huge loss for everyone."

Hurricanes trainer Pete Friesen had announced his third annual pre-camp 5K around the RBC Center on Sept. 14 would be held in honor of Julia Rowe. Today, he had to fight back tears in talking about her death.

"I didn't know her really well but the influence she had on our team, especially during the Stanley Cup run, was second to none," Friesen said. "I think in her own way, she helped us win the Stanley Cup, because a lot of times you can start focusing on how tough it is. And then Coach brought Julia Rowe into our lives.

"Then you knew what was really tough. If she could battle that, we could battle a seventh game or whatever we had to face."
"

RIP

will fuck your girlfriend, and he will be in town on September 19th. I get married 2 days later, so I am definitely worried. This man's love of pussy is rivaled only by Warren Jeffs and Todd Palin, so please be on the lookout. Keep your women inside.
