arshavin isnt a striker though...hes an attacking middy. hes usually the one that sets up the strikers. though, i didnt get to see the game so i have no idea where arsene played him in the field.

and neville is out again with an injury, maybe this will be for good(harsh but being realistic). id rather have one of the brazilian twins at fullback than neville right now...hes lost 12 steps and is obviously a liability now.

"that fourth goal was definitely NOT automatic...first of all, the kid had to be fast as balls to get into position to score it, which isn't really skill, but nevertheless speaks for his quality as a striker. And second, that was not an automatic goal...if he were on the right, maybe, but he pretty much had to use his left foot."

Yeah, no doubt... scoring four goals at Anfield should be praised, no matter what the quality of the goals. I never said any of them were "automatic" but they were more or less put on a silver platter for him to convert. Even the second came from piss poor defending (not to discredit his effort to get the ball, of course)

Anyways... Torres just keeps racking up clinical goals, he is so good

edit: so ManYoo fans, where are you hearing Tevez will end up this summer? Spain?

well, never mind that, then...but according to Wikipedia he played attacking mid, winger and then eventually settled into a role as a second striker at Zenit...so maybe that's where he played in the Pool game
anyhow, he damn sure looked like a striker

^ true...I somehow picked up the word "automatic" out of nowhere

^^ I think the rumor came from The Sun, which needs to always be taken with a grain of salt...

But my money would be on him going to Real or Inter, with Real being the more likely of the two.

I don't see any way that United cough up the money for him, which makes me very sad.

Yeah you can't really blame him for wanting to leave... but on the other hand, you can't blame United for not throwing crazy money at him with the personnel they already have

i cant stand bendtner

so while im thinking of it...joey barton got a prison sentence and served like 2 or 3 months for it for his assault on someone...liverpool fans, whats the saga on gerrard? he still have to go to court or did he magically get out of this one?

Well without knowing much of the details for either, I do know that was like Barton's 189087324th fight/assault charge, it was bound to catch up to him sooner or later

I was under the impression there weren't many details known about Gerrard's case either... but whatever the case, don't act like he's the only athlete to slip past serious punishment over a bar fight

all that stuff applies to wayne rooney as well though. didn't he beat up a dude at a restaurant ? i'm sure it wasn't the first time, but he's still awesome

It's all about perception though, which is bullshit just like it is here. They should all get treated the same way.

I disagree

I feel that Rooney and Gerrard are English national treasures, and also two of the most important players in the Premier League, and therefore the rules should be relaxed somewhat in their cases...though not overtly of course

I don't see anything wrong with punishing them less than Barton was punished...if you fuck up Rooney or Gerrard, it totally changes the Premier League season and could possibly determine who wins the League this year

for me, that's worse than being inconsistent in your judgments in small matters such as bar fights

but I think Barton probably has a much blacker legal record than either of them, anyway

I'm not suggesting he should automatically get away with it... but it didn't look like much of a "fight" to me. It's not he put somebody in a hospital or anything, it just seemed like a minor bar altercation, nothing more

just came across these stats on a blog I frequent

-Spurs haven't won in their last 18 against United

-Spurs have only one goal in their last eight at Old Trafford

Needless to say, don't expect them to drop points this weekend

bartons case has been much worse, it seems like he gets in trouble for something almost every month and hasn't shown any signs of improvement, unlike rooney who hasn't gotten in trouble in a while or gerrard where it seems to be just this single incident.

man utd better not drop points to tottenham, but crazier things have happened

Yeah, that Radio announcer is a fucking douche for that. he even has the audacity to say that he won't apologize to him - which would line him up for a certified ass-beating from most people.

the british media has this false sense of entitlement, they feel like they can say or do whatever they want. I guess slander laws don't work the same way over there.

And yeh...who couldn't see that coming? They are tough at home.

He stiffens his arms all the way down and holds his wrists out like a gay dude sashaying - what a queerbait.

No, calling a spade a spade.

Lennon is a fringe player, and will never see the pitch again if Joey Cole can stay healthy.

Berbatov. 5-2 United. Absolutely rampant.

Ramos is an idiot. I hope they don't think he's the long-term solution at Real.

Pepe already said that he'd do the time because he was absolutely wrong - he said it the day of, that he'd do the time if it were 4 matches or 14.

i never thought of pepe as dirty, but that was definitely worth 10 games. he did kick the guy once (which could have looked like an attempt at the ball), then again he does it again VERY blatantly.

CR can go die in the SPL, fuck him. juande will be out of a job by oct. with or without ronaldo.
