just watched the HBO sneaks

really pumped about tonights episode.never know which way the show will take the story. lets hope godric wrecks some shit.i'm also getting increasingly wary of bill being trapped in his hotel room. getting impatient for his story to progress.
8/9/2009 7:00:37 PM
Wow, I really didn't think I'd like another new vamp after Eric, but I really like Godric!
8/9/2009 10:52:55 PM
I'm totally crushing on Godric. And I felt so bad for Jessica when she realized she'd be a virgin for the rest of her years. That would seriously suck. I mean, what a great twist to throw into their relationship! Way to go writers! ]
8/9/2009 10:54:20 PM
On a different board talking about true blood, someone suggested that maybe her hymen grew back (bc of the next episode synopsis) and I thought that was the most retarded thing ever. Ehh...they went there. I'll see how they progress their "predicament"more thoughts later......
8/9/2009 11:01:12 PM
Worst. Affliction. Ever. I'm just saying.
8/9/2009 11:02:22 PM
So I guess injuries received before you are a vamp DON'T heal? So if a quad got changed, he would be the only immortal in a wheelchair?
8/10/2009 12:15:26 AM
^what makes you think that? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not certain we've seen anything to suggest that... or did I miss something along the way?Godric is kinda the man. I'm curious how they'll keep him in the show, or if they'll keep him in the show, after this.[Edited on August 10, 2009 at 12:35 AM. Reason : .]

godric is awesome. sad everyone didn't go batshit crazy at the FoTS. i thought jason was hilarious.
8/10/2009 12:30:50 AM
godric probably dead after this bomb goes off
8/10/2009 2:04:55 AM
Injuries b4 becoming a vamp do heal...see Eric as wounded and dying Viking.
8/10/2009 7:22:12 AM
To be honest, my wife and I found this episode to be kinda lame. All of the conflict just petered out and it felt like godrick was pulling a deus ex machina both in the temple and with Lorena. "I am the authority. Everyone just sit around and twiddle your thumbs."I'm also getting tired of Maryann. I get it. She makes people fuck and hit each other. Please to go somewhere with this soon. The Jessica thing is fucking stupid.I'm not saying the episode was a total loss, just not what I had wanted to see after last week's build-up.
8/10/2009 8:42:59 AM
more thoughts...Jason had some great moments and lines in this episode...re: Judas "What did he ever do to you?" and to Bill "Was that good for you?"Eric pretending to be human with a country accent was hilarious. Eric overall was solid this episode. A lot of range for him expanding his character (which you see more of in the books) in this episode. Between seeing him around his maker and taking a subservient role, seeing him protect Sookie, being so old and so far removed from his human form that he obviously doesn't understand feelings anymore, seeing his possessiveness over Sookie to Bill, and then back to the authoritative role disciplining Jason.IMO Godric, by his stance on human/vampire relations, will never ever "wreck some shit" on anyone. He looked so remorseful and detached from the whole scene sitting in that chair, only engaging when someone approached him (cept for the Sookie/Lorena spat), that I don't think we've seen the last of him in a white ceremonial robe.watching Maryann cut up the heart (yeah it was a bell pepper) and then Tara and Eggs eat that thing was the nastiest visual I've ever seen on cable TV. BLLLLLUUUUUAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Sam OK! Jessica and her growing back hymen...my reasoning for thinking it's retarded and not the:
8/10/2009 8:52:14 AM
^^they did the same thing in season 1 as well with the vampires at merlotte's. random aside:who has the highest body count on the show? (not implied, but actually shown) bill?

8/10/2009 9:14:14 AM
Yeah the Maryanne stuff is starting to get old. Something needs to happen with that.I think they handled Godric very well. It seems that the oldest and wisest vampire we know is also the most humane. It seems that after thousands of years of living in violence and stuff, he just wants peace. And I'm sure there is gonna be a way for them to work in Godric wrecking some shit. Maybe he'll end up fighting Maryanne or something? That line that Jason said to Steve "I've already been to Heaven... when I was inside your wife" or whatever, that was pretty good. Also, awkward talk between Jason and Bill was kinda funny.

when the scene at FOTS is wrapping up...Steve is going on about Jason and everyone going to hell and that he knows he'll be in heaven. Then Jason says that to him.
8/10/2009 9:40:15 AM
^^that was a great line
8/10/2009 10:29:45 AM
^^oh i remember that now! but i missed those words. i've gotten used to watching this show on sunday and then watching it again on monday. i always see stuff i missed. i'm not looking forward to watching tara and eggs dinner again though ]
8/10/2009 10:30:57 AM
i love this show so very much. i loved last nights episode and appreciated the twist in that the vamps didnt kill all the humans like we all thought they would. i cant wait to see who dies in the blast but we know who doesnt die from the previews. i really hate how they spoil some of that with their previews
8/10/2009 3:44:42 PM
was godric in the previews next week? the way I watch it the next week preview things aren't includednot sure if I like it that way or not. godric can't die though, he's my new favorite
8/10/2009 3:55:39 PM
maybe godric quickly speed runs and rips the guys arm off so he cant blow himself up. Just a thought.
8/10/2009 4:10:07 PM
looks like the FoTS will be taking a major PR hit in the foreseeable future. also, if maryanne is a maenad that would mean that dionysus is real which would most likely mean that the other greek gods are also real. if the writers/charlaine harris/alan ball got really really bored, the show could turn into all kinds of crazy based on the possibilities!^i thought they showed the button being depressed right before the credits rolled? i could see godric dying in an attempt to shield sookie [Edited on August 10, 2009 at 4:25 PM. 8/10/2009 4:13:06 PM
Godric is the manand the button is pressed before the credits go onThis show just keeps getting more and more crazy and poor Jessica ]

No, I didn't take my thought on the matter that far.All I'm saying is yes, we've seen a wounded human turned vamp healed post turn. And I also said that I thought this hymen affliction being the most retarded Jessica twist ever, but if it throws a kink in her "yay no more dick daddy!!" freedom then I'm all for it. I think BC she had her hymen in tact b4 becoming a vampire, it will definitely heal back everytime. Eric is also 1000 years old, so who am I to say my response is immediate fix all.I will say this...and it's no big deal that it's a book spolier bc Alan Ball has said this character willnever ever surface (it's an image rights thing and just too tricky he says). In the books, they say sometimes turning a vamp goes well and sometimes it doesn't. In the case of Bubba, it went wrong. Bubba is the name this vampire prefers to go by--he is really Elvis. The story is a vampire worked in the morgue where he was taken, and he saw a flicker of life in him so he turned elvis to a vamp. Bc of the drugs in his system, he wasn't all there as a vampire...and liked to feed on small animals. They kinda babysit him, and when he gets seen they send him somewhere else (explains the sightings ). Point being...sometimes the change goes one way, someimes it doesn't. That may explain why Eric healed, Jessica will always have a hymen, and other female camps have there cherry popped state. That point being there aren't always absolutes.
8/10/2009 8:41:41 PM
it's just a plot hole, guys.
8/10/2009 8:47:04 PM
it's not a plot hole. give it another episode to explain it before jumping to such conclusions.
8/10/2009 8:48:03 PM
I agree, it doesn't make any goddamn sense. And they could have found a better way to turn Jessica back into a whiny bitch. Maybe have her accidentally bite Hoyte, freaking him out and having him run away. That would bum her out and eventually build up to a scene where Hoyte "lets" her bite him. Instead they take the easy way out.

It'll probably just wind up being something like "vampires can selectively heal" and she just hasn't figured it out yet. Which, granted, is pretty silly but it's not like it'd be completely off the wall.
8/11/2009 9:00:28 AM
8/11/2009 9:57:51 AM
i think everyone is focusing too much on the hymen regeneration. In addition to that, Jessica went back to her pure virgin state, meaning it would hurt to have sex, hymen or not. They focused on the hymen growing back on the show, or that was what was implied, but I think we can assume that all of her lady-business was more-or-less "reset" to its virgin condition.
8/11/2009 10:24:08 AM
Just a thought... how come Jason eats a drop of vampire blood and it gets him all high and wigging out and stuff, but Sookie and LaFayette drink a ton of it and it just heals them? Maybe it only gets you high if you are in good health already or something?
8/11/2009 10:31:00 AM
another good example was when jason drank the entire vial and had to go to the hospital...
8/11/2009 11:24:04 AM
Might be a difference between blood that's been "harvested" and stored vs. drinking it directly from the source.
8/11/2009 11:28:45 AM
if you remember when LaFayette drank Eric's blood the last time he did jump up and start dancing and acting foolish
8/11/2009 11:45:22 AM
For the show's sake...yeah I agree and think it has something to do with being harvested & stored versus a direct source link.^haha, yeah that was awesome [Edited on August 11, 2009 at 11:47 AM. Reason : ]

It's not really the plot hole aspect that bugs me (we're talking about a show with vampires and shapeshifters), it's just a really lame direction to take the Jessica/Hoyte relationship. Maximum shock value with no real thought behind it, there were kids on forums everywhere before this episode saying "lol, i wonder if stays a virgin forever". It's not like it's even that big of a problem. I'm sure there is some vampire drug/pain killer she can get hopped up on or just FHUTA.[Edited on August 11, 2009 at 12:49 PM. Reason : :]
