look at the seating charts from the first seasons at TWCA to the upcoming one
They came out overpriced as hell...some might say they still are
99 dollar club seats = consistent scalps for half that
As long as we don't do something crazy and start winning

Quote : | "Curry might not get his wish – to be with Knicks Report: Bobcats or Blazers may trade up to nab Davidson star in draft.
Davidson star guard Stephen Curry, who has been quite open about his interest in becoming a Knick, has seen his stock rise to the point that he could wind up being taken by a team that trades up to a spot ahead of the Knicks.
The Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Bobcats are said to be enamored of what Curry can bring at the NBA level.
The Knicks will get a close-up look at Curry on Wednesday when he visits the MSG Training Center in Greenburgh, N.Y., for his predraft workout. Curry will be joined by UCLA guard Jrue Holiday.
Before Wednesday's main event, the Knicks will bring in six players today for a workout.
The lineup includes North Carolina guard Ty Lawson, along with Syracuse guard Jonny Flynn, Toney Douglas (Florida State), Tywain McKee (Coppin State), Dante Cunningham (Villanova) and Leo Lyons (Missouri). " |

The team needs offense, but I see Curry as the classic "starter on a bad team, 6th/7th guy on a good team" player
He might be able to come in and give someone 15 a game right away in 25-30 minutes
But I still like Henderson 6/9/2009 8:42:08 AM |

honestly i don't really see the difference between henderson and any other run-of-the-mill athlete. he can dunk for sure, but other than that he doesn't really do anything great. i guess down the road he could become a gerald wallace-type player, but i would think they would want something a little more immediate 6/9/2009 8:51:43 AM |

at 12 you usually aren't looking at a star (Jason Thompson, Thaddeus Young, Hilton Armstrong the last three years)
I think Henderson can step in an be a contributer on a playoff (?) team next year, while Ellington and Curry will need the ball in their hands more to be effective 6/9/2009 8:56:14 AM |

it's unfortunate there aren't a plethora of skilled big men in this draft, because that's where they need help desperately. 6/9/2009 9:00:12 AM |
Slave Famous Become Wrath 34079 Posts user info edit post |
The main problem is that so many good big men stayed (Farooq Aminu, Ed Davis, Craig Brackins, Greg Monroe) that its pushing the lesser players down to the 12 spot
If those guys come out, they're probably all top 10, and we get a better selection of players at 12
Now they're in next years draft where we won't have a pick if it ends up outside the top 12 6/9/2009 9:08:21 AM |

a UNC fan doesn't like a Duke player? what a shock
Henderson is kind of a streaky shooter at this point, but I think he's gonna be a good pro. You must have missed what he did in the ACC play if you think he's not skilled. Obviously I am biased as well, but I think he'll be a better pro than all of the UNC dudes coming out (LOL at Lawson's draft stock slipping farther every day). If Henderson goes to the Bobcats maybe i can actually cheer for them.6/10/2009 5:49:17 PM |

it has nothing to do with not liking him, i just don't see anything in his game that is particularly special. although, i guess in this weak draft it could be justified taking him that high 6/10/2009 6:51:00 PM |

i like that he seems to be well rounded with a relatively high ceiling. i'd be hesitant to take a pure scorer like curry, and i get nervous when they take someone they think can be a lockdown defender cause defense doesnt necessarily translate. but someone like henderson seems like he could become a solid player at the 2 that you wouldnt feel is a liability at either end. i think he could easily start over raja and let raja just come off the bench.
i've seen some mock drafts with the bobcats takin blair from pitt. that pick would be interesting, especially if we do let may go. 6/10/2009 7:23:29 PM |
StingrayRush All American 14628 Posts user info edit post |
apparently blair has some knee issues that have some GMs thinking twice about him. the last guy with knee issues worked out really well though, so the cats will probably take him 6/10/2009 8:12:46 PM |

hah, yea thats probably why he's creepin up the boards for the bobcats to take. the draft guys must think its a sure bet. i hadnt heard that about him...now my intrigue has shifted into wariness. 6/10/2009 8:36:32 PM |

didn't Dejuan Blair measure out to be like 6'5 or 6'6? i'm still a little wary of how good he'll be in the pros. but i guess Big Baby is a bit undersized and he's doing alright so we'll see 6/10/2009 8:40:19 PM |

yeah but he's got like a 7 foot wingspan so that helps. the knee thing came from chad ford, so i'd assume it's for real 6/10/2009 8:44:27 PM |

The guy can score as well as anyone but his game is much more rounded than that. His passing is way underrated and his basketball IQ is off the charts. If he somehow slipped to the bobcats that would be a steal. The guy is more than capable of playing the 1 or 2 at the next level. Everyone gets so caught up with measurables and stats when the NBA draft comes around, but all you have to ask yourself is "can he play?".6/10/2009 8:59:59 PM |

Jordan had a suspect shot when he came out too -- I think he was 17% from three his rookie year (not that I'm saying Henderson=Jordan, just pointing it out)
There's a big difference in being a shooter and not being able to shoot. Henderson isn't a pure shooter like Ellington, Curry, etc, but he can hit shots if left open. Definitely needs to improve his range though.6/26/2009 9:19:59 AM |

Henderson rarely to never played 2 in college. He was almost always the swing man. He needs to work on his shot (33.6% from the COLLEGE 3 last year) and actually develop a left.6/26/2009 2:28:46 PM |

Well we botched another draft not surprisingly. It hurt to see terrence go right before our pick and now we're stuck with another non impact player. We could have gotten lucky and had blair fall to us but no of course not. If wed done the right thing and taken lopez last year then we could have justified taking lawson this year who will undoubtedly be one of the top players from this draft class. This team hasn't gotten many breaks but they really never do anything right either 6/29/2009 10:53:13 AM |

i've sort of warmed to the idea of henderson, but that dude has GOT to work on his shot. he's got a lot of potential if he can consistently shoot 35-40% from three and create off the dribble. 6/29/2009 11:21:23 AM |

you missed out on the PG prediction last year when you said Derek Rose wasn't one of the top 2 players in the draft...you really think a 5'11" point guard who can't play defense and can't play in a half court offense is going to undoubtedly be on of the top players from the draft?6/29/2009 12:18:50 PM |

Agreed. I didn't like the Augustin pick last year, but he impressed me last year. Lawson can work wonders for a run-and-gun team, but Augustin is a much better ball-handler and shooter -- making him more ideal for a Larry Brown run team IMO 6/29/2009 1:15:45 PM |

^^Based on my eyes. Lawson will hit threes if left open -- he proved that this year -- but he won't be able to get his shot off easily in the NBA. He has weird mechanics, a slow release, and a very low release point -- not good when you're 5'10. Augustin has a good lift on his shot, and his stroke is money. His ball-handling speaks for itself.

Yeah, I don't really think Lawson will be that great a NBA pg. He is insanely quick and under control so he won't be that turnover prone, but his shot sort of reminds of me of Jason Kidd when he was younger the way he shoots it. Only we have no idea how consistent it will be from NBA range...
The thing is, Henderson isn't going to be able to get his shot against athletic NBA 2's since he is a one-trick pony (going right). He needs to develop his left and he really isn't that great of a shooter. His athleticism will get him to the basket but will he be able to finish against athletic big men? I don't know...

Yeah ... I don't mind the Henderson pick, just wish Terrance Williams would have been there. He's a lot like Henderson, just better at everything -- better athleticism, better defense, better height. Neither one can really dribble or shoot though. 6/30/2009 1:20:24 PM |
