I still dont get how people can just ignore the fact that Sidney had to recruit some guys just to fill roster spots. Given an even playing field, Sidney has done better in recruiting for 09 than I would have expected, and depending on who else we get, this class could become great.

Sure, we have some players here that probably shouldn't be here, but thats part of the process when you run your good coach with a strong recruiting base out of town.

And regarding that president comment, you realize that only a small majority decided the last 2 elections? Plus, we didn't choose Sidney, Fowler did. A better comment would be that half the country loves the president, and half the country hates him...similar to our fanbase regarding the last 2 coaches. You can't fucking win.

Look man, refs have been fucking us over since I have been a fan of state and I guarantee you that every other fanbase of losing/mediocre teams feels like the refs fuck them over continually too. Hell, you know the VT fans were pissed at the refs during the first half of the game.

Bottom line is that was an EPIC choke and well, it feels shitty to blame a player who trys hard but just isn't that good. Horner shouldn't have been on the floor to choke in the first place.

That leaves Sidney, and while I don't blame the losses on him every time or think he should be fired, I am about tired of seeing slowass white guys on the floor fuck up when we have decent players on the bench who are just as capable of fucking up, but might actually be also capable of contributing if they ever got any playing time.

in addition, why do you say VT got bad calls in the first half...is it because their fans booed on every call that didn't go in their favor from the first whistle on? Because if they thought it was a bad call...it must have been...right? Maybe that argument wouldn't hold water except they thought Fells actually committed an intentional. (great job by the VT fans though....horrible job by the refs to let that shit get to them)

I didn't say American leader. Italy has averaged a 92.5% voter turnout in the last 50 years, and they haven't had the best of leaders.

I was just saying that you can blame the coach for picking the players and deciding who was going to play when. And yes, Fowler is just as much at fault.

well I just assume that people are putting america and shitty leader together...but still...my point stands that even with good voter turnout, barely over half of the voters actually vote for the guy who is elected.

to your edit, if you read my post you will see that I point out a valid reason that those players aren't what you would expect on a high major basketball team.

^^^^ There were a shitload of touch fouls called on VT on the first half the same way there were a ton on us in the second half.

all the errors yesterday came down to lack of discipline

and it is the coaches responsibility to get the players to respect him

The difference being, that VT actually committed those fouls, and kept committing them in the second half when they weren't being called....and on the other hand we did deserve several of our calls, but not considering that they swallowed the whistle while VT was playing defense in the last 12 minutes.


Plus, the questionable fouls against VT gave us a fresh shot clock and a ball out of bounds in the first half. The questionable calls against us put VT on the free throw line. Delaney scores 7 straight from the line. I think they scored at least 9 points on their run in the first half from the foul line. Don't give me this shit about VT getting all of the calls.
