Stewart only averages 7:43 minutes per game (18 games). That's the lowest, aside from the Checkers guys who bounce around. And even then, Boychuk still averages more time. I'm not sure that it's really fair to write him off already.

Fighting aside...why would we get rid of 1 of our 3 defensive d when we have a surplus of offensive d? Dont' forget that Pitkanen has been out, and that will cause 2 healthy D scratches every game, unless they send Faulk back down.

I actually liked laroses move in the shootout, the come flying in and freeze got price to stick, a better shooter would have finished.

The angle looking from the goalie perspective in real time kinda showed how effective it could have been.

I won't hate on him too much since skinner had price beat, bad, and couldn't finish either.

Admitting he made a mistake giving a three-year deal to a 33-year-old defenseman whose best days are apparently behind him is not the kind of thing Jim Rutherford is wont to do. There’s also the bizarre loyalty Paul Maurice seems to have for anyone who played for him on the Toronto Maple Leafs. By anyone’s objective measurement, Kaberle has been Carolina’s seventh defenseman at best. When Pitkanen and Harrison are both healthy, there’s no way Kaberle should play over either (or Justin Faulk, or Tim Gleason, or Jamie McBain, or Bryan Allen). It’s an open debate whether he’s doing anything right now Joslin can’t do better at a sixth of the price. So the question tonight -- or whenever Pitkanen is ready to return -- comes down to pride.
