tweeted the lea gameplay scripter, who has been pretty active and honest about fuck ups... he said he fixed that bug and will hopefully be in a patch soon. but that i was screwed in the mean time.

i like when i watch a Let's Play video on youtube, and they have high density avenues, or basically massive roads, and the right lane is bumper-to-bumper traffic, and the middle and left lane are completely empty...yet the cop cars and firetrucks and ambulances and garbage trucks are just sitting in traffic like retards

I fixed the issue by turning off the school, bulldozing, then replacing

Plastic imports I am not receiving by ship like I was, I do get them by truck, but on certain views I can see the trucks are Stuck in traffic on the highway, and take forever to reach my city.

Education is easily the most expensive thing. Although if you deck out a hospital, big police or fire station those can add up too. There's just too much broken with this game for me to get anymore enjoyment out of it.

I keep checking this thread to see if there's a consensus on this. seems like every fix for this game is just uncovering more problems.

I hope they get this fixed before the DayZ standalone release, otherwise I don't think I'll ever buy it.

Yea same here. I have every other game in the series, and if y'all were in he ranting and raving about how awesome it is, I am pretty sure my bitching about Origin and the net connection would have been forgotten. But no, right now I think I am better off sitting on the sidelines and waiting till they fix this nightmare.

I wish X-Com would go back on sale. I didn't get that for Christmas and really want it, but I am trying to be patient waiting for a sale to come back.

someone deconstructed the server communication. aside from game saves... the only information the server communicates is very simple information on utility defecits/surpluses, population, and money.

but these numbers are never live. they are only as of the last save. so if it autosaves every 20 mins, thats your update rate. if you never play it again, water never gets depleted, etc. nothing communicates back to your city. it only functions as a broadcast mechanism.

so, nothing is to stop you from building a city with a power surplus of 1000 MW, water surpluses, water treatment surplus, etc on an unsustainable budget, and not have to build the infrastructure in your main city.

also, nothing is to say that since you can play one city at a time in a personal region, that your computer cant handle a simple database with this information. nor is there anything that says someone cant set up a private server to store this for a group of friends.

in my own naivety i believed their bullshit on the server handles some calculation offloading, but im glad to see people calling them on their bullshit.

Diablo 3 was unsuccessful imho. World of Warcraft doesn't count. The whole point of that game is that you're online. Every other blizzard game has single player offline.
