lol at Kobe. Hes really got the Charlotte Sports talk radio guys up in arms.
I can understand their hate though. Not only was it 18 years ago...but it went down nothing like he said it did. To say that the Hornets didn't believe in you when YOU were the one that said you wouldn't play in Charlotte is laughable. 7/2/2014 8:01:02 AM |

Kobe had already said that he wouldn't play for Charlotte. He basically said he wanted to play in a big market like Los Angeles. The Hornets and Lakers made a deal before the draft that we would draft Kobe and trade him to LA for Divac, an All-Star center. Kobe is the one who had no use for Charlotte, not the other way around.] 7/2/2014 10:49:59 AM |

Not only that, but Kobe wouldn't work out for most teams because he only wanted to end up in a big market. Kobe never worked out for Charlotte. The whole this is a farce and if you didn't know the real Kobe already, you should now. Champion basketball player. Loser person. 7/2/2014 10:54:14 AM |

Charlotte is a mid-size market right? The 2nd financial center in US.
And I know kobe grows up in Italy. His family is not as poor as Jordan and Lebron.

yes, he was a future star. but at the time, he couldn't shoot.
the hornets traded the rights to an athletic high school kid who couldn't shoot for a center who helped lead them to the two best years in franchise history.
honestly, kobe was just a bonus for the lakers, as they were trying to get rid of Vlade's contract so they could sign Shaq. TRUE FACTS.7/2/2014 3:43:47 PM |

LOL No, he's not a bonus. It's fully PLANNED! Jerry West put Kobe and Shaq together in summer 1996 and they start to become a rising force.

We have about $15 million in cap space, and that's about what Haywood wants. So we couldn't realistically get both.
That being said, Haywood is a restricted FA, and all indications point to Utah matching any offer. So it's highly unlikely Haywood ends up a Hornet. 7/6/2014 10:38:43 PM |

It was the 24th pick in the draft ... not like we were throwing away a lottery pick.
PJ has top-10 talent and has stayed out of trouble in the D-league. I don't like the guy, but he was worth rolling the dice on that late in the draft, especially considering the Hornets' needs.
That said, screw PJ. I don't think anyone would mind cutting his ass at this point. 7/7/2014 2:02:41 PM |
