Agreed. This thread is a fucking cesspool.

This year people have stopped discussing the league and started taking runs at each other to the point where it has now spiraled out of control.

It's not even fun to come in here anymore.

I'm really not mad. Disappointed? Sure. But not mad.

I've been effusive in my praise of what Spurs did in the face of knowing their star was leaving. Arsenal needs to learn a bit from them. I feel dirty for how many posts I've wasted praising them to be honest.

But when I see posts saying 25 year old Capoue with his six caps can be world class I am going to dispute it.

Whatever dude. There's been a little bit of trolling in here (by some people) but it's no different than it's always been and I'm sure you're just noticing it more because most of it has been directed at Spurs. United fans have been handling it for years in here.

There's plenty of discussion about the league going on. Like how thinking Spurs have a lock on 4th place already is dumb, for instance.

Sky just said what we all know. Levy stalling deal to block Arsenal from moving for Real's surplus.

Not classy or dignified but very smart..

That "partnership" with Real is finally paying off a little bit. Also, Vlad Chiriches is official. Lamela is unofficially official and Eriksen should be wrapped up very soon. Double covered on every single position with a sigurdsson to boot.

Eriksen, Chiriches, Lamela all official now. I think they're all available for Sunday. Apparently we're still trying to go after another striker. Chicharito and Rodrigo possibly.

Can't really see any of them playing a major role in such a huge match with hardly any practice time.

Maybe Lamela could be used as a super sub.

I think AVB might switch it up a little bit for Sunday. I could definitely see him sitting Rose and moving Vertonghen out to LB to keep an eye on walnut with Kaboul and Dawson playing the center.

I'd like to see Sandro get that start over Capoue to play beside Paulinho although either option is fine there really.

Also, keep Lennon on the bench and continue to ride Townsend's current form. It's a bit of a risk there, but I think Andros interjects some life (and much better crosses) down that flank instead of just relying on pace and hoping Lennon can pick somebody out, which hardly ever happens.

If Spurs get up and the crowd turns on Arsene, it could get toxic in there. I'm gonna say 2-1 Lillywhite.

Arsenal are still surely favorites Sunday still. Spurs had a great window and have a better squad but still more quality in the Arsenal XI..

Sandro >>>>> Capoue and it's not close. Capoue had a pretty bad season last year which is why big clubs didn't go after him this window. Sandro is excellent when fit of course.

Ribs, I don't think any of those three signings will start. Agree that Lamela could make a sub appearance. Vertonghen really struggles against pacey wingers when he starts at LB so I don't think that would be a good idea. Probably better to instruct Rose to not be as gung-ho and Vertonghen to help him out. I'd also like to see Lennon start the game because he's better defensively than Townsend and because it's such an important match. Lennon is more experienced. If Sandro is completely fit I think he'd be the better option but I'm not sure he is. The only start he's made since the injury is Thursday at Tbilisi.

I want to see Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, and Rose I'm defense. Rose seems to have a knack for the big games. Paulinho and Sandro/Capoue at the CM positions. Chadli, Holtby, Lennon at AM. And Soldado at ST. Subs - Kaboul, Naughton, Sandro/Capoue, Dembele, Lamela, Defoe.

NyM, Capoue had the 2nd highest WhoScored rating from last season in Ligue 1. I have no idea what you're talking about. And there's absolutely no way Arsenal have more quality after all these signings. We're better than you at every position in defense, including keeper. Better than you at holding midfielders because y'all don't even have one. Better than you at striker. The only positions you've got us beat are at creative/center mid and maybe one winger out of two. Maybe. And we've got much better depth than y'all do. There's no question about it.

I think we have a better squad top to bottom at this point, but they still have a great first XI and can beat anybody in the league especially at home. We are going to have to play our best game yet to walk away with points there.

I think Arsene exaggerated in his comments, but he does have a point about squad turnover and how that much change can make it tough to click right away. That's why this match is at an ideal time for Arsenal imo. I wouldn't expect Spurs to really start hitting top gear until Jan when all the new players have had to time to understand their roles and teammates.

It sounds like we aren't done in the market as well. They definitely want another striker as Ade is on the way out the door. Shalke was mentioned yesterday as a club in for him.

^ Makes me realize how poorly Huddlestone is suited to playing a high line. He actually looks good in this game.

^^ I think Arsenal still have a pretty good team. I just think we're that good now. I'd love to have Wilshere, Cazorla, or Arteta in our team. But I think our defense+keeper is hands down better and Giroud is very inconsistent.

If anything saves us it will be the fact that our defense is very familiar with each other. That gives our midfield some leeway to find their rhythm. I think the fact that we're 4/4 for clean sheets at this point in the season proves that fact. If you have to choose between defense or attack being more acclimated, defense is the clear choice. We'll be fine.

He does have a point, but this is a guy who bought EIGHT players in the summer of 1997 then went on to win the league that season.

Some people are claiming Lamela wanted to go to Arsenal but Wenger didn't even put in a bid. Hilarious if true; WTF are we doing?? Don't see much happening today and match tomorrow, so it all comes down to the final day.

I think Arsenal's best 11 is a step above Spurs, but since we have like 12 healthy first team outfield players, it's going to be utter disaster over the long run.

Piers Morgan said that and was immediately shot down by multiple journalists. Baldini had been working on this deal for months apparently. Lamela was his top priority after moving from Roma.

That's all we're saying to you Spurs fans. The Premier League isn't La Liga or Serie A. These players are all highly rated and have potential but you shouldn't automatically put them ahead of players/teams that have proven themselves in the league already.

Wenger has been completely lost on the managerial side of things since Darren Dein left. It becomes more and more clear every year just how important he was.

Then again, he could just be trolling and will laugh at everyone as he unveils a few big signings on Monday.

Recent history says that probably won't be the case, though.

Got some Series A keeper on loan. Net spend still at £0.

Di Maria and Benzema starting today and looking less likely. Ozil and Mata are pipedreams. Draxler ain't leaving for less than an absurd amount (he is NOT worth more than Isco).

Looks like Bendtner is like a new signing and Diaby can get fit in winter

I would say a win today for Liverpool and they, along with Spurs are guaranteed top four.

I don't think LFC played out of their minds. After the goal, they had very little going forward. They just got a lead and saw out the game.

United were just shit. I don't see how Baines and/or Fellaini fix their midfield problems.

Moyes is out of his depth

That midfield selection was atrocious and cost them the match

Cleverley just doesn't have the quality to play in a top side imo and I'm blown away that Kagawa didn't even make the bench.
