^ FSU had the whole Chris Rix / Adrian McPherson window, but yes for the most part they have had decent QBs that went on to be mediocre NFL Qbs (Weinke and Ponder come to mind and I suspect EJ Manuel will be mediocre as well).

Was just looking for a list of all the backs to ever have 1,000 yard rushing seasons. Couldn't find one, but found the top-100 all time single season rushing marks. ACC only has 2 players; Thomas Jones and David Wilson. BC, Miami and Pitt each had at least 1, but before they were in the ACC.

Herschel Walker (x2), Bo Jackson Garrison Hearst and George Rogers were the only SEC backs on the list

Quote :
"When we had shitty QBs, we split our carries evenly between Brown and Baker. Although a slight overlap, we had awesome QBs for the next 5 years and passed the fuck out of the ball or had our QB run it a lot (Wilson).

Pretty simple to see why we didn't have a 1,000 yard rusher."

and once again, lots of other teams had the same scenarios and had 1,000 yard backs

^ not a list just of that, but you can enter the year and team and it will show you the stats for each player going back to 2004 I think: http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/stats/_/id/333/alabama-crimson-tide

For example, a few randoms:

Arkansas (2006) - DMC and Felix Jones both had 1,000+
West Virginia (2009) - Noel Devine
Tennessee (2004) - Riggs and Houston both had 1,000+
Auburn (2010) - Newton and Dyer, McCalebb almost too

I never said otherwise... was simply pointing out that isnt the determining reason as to why

^^ so you want me to find a team with either a shitty QB that used more than one running back and still had a 1,000 yard rusher, or you want me to find a team that had a great QB and had a 1,000 yard rusher. LOL, easy enough

First Scenario DONE - Vandy 2011 - Zac Stacy only had 2/5ths of the rushing attempts, had over 1,000 yards, and Vandy QBs combined for 15 TDs and 18 INTs

Second Scenario DONE - Pick pretty much any year by USC. 2005 for example, Reggie and LenDale both rushed for over 1,000 and Leinart tore shit up

yeah, that 56 seconds it took me to come up with two was lucky... good thing I picked the only combinations out of several hundreds or thousands to pick from.

also "so you want me to find a team"

and haven't done it since. in fact, they've only two guys reach 1,000 yards since (1,005 & 1,014)

do you even look before posting? sit down

some more:

UCLA in 2006, shitty QB, 1,000 yard rusher
UCLA in 2010, GOD AWFUL QB, 1000 yard rusher

i thought we were talking about teams that had two RBs who split possessions and still had a 1,00 back guy. Isn't that what we were talking about?

that or a good QB and a 1,000 yard rusher

Texas 2005, Vince Young tore shit up, 1,000 yard rusher (who also was named Vince Young )

My work here is done... The Champion has left the building

Although I hate to be the one to back Jaybee up, he did mention

Quote :
"Zac Stacy only had 2/5ths of the rushing attempts, had over 1,000 yards"

which fills the split backs scenario if he was only the rusher 40% of the time.

this is such a pointless, offtrack discussion. Why even discuss it? Those coaches are gone and nobody is even having this discussion in the context of their lack of success.

I agree The E Man. It is pretty pointless to dwell on something that happened 10 seasons ago. I am much, much more concerned with this season.

However you seem to be quite concerned with the 2015 season and how the ACC will look nationally. Which is about as relevant on September 4, 2013 as discussing TA McLendon's rushing numbers from 10 years ago.

I was just providing proof for my stance that was questioned. There wouldn't have been an argument if people would just be like "you are right as usual Jaybee, let's move on to another subject" but noooooo they have to be petty bitches and argue even after I destroy their argument.

So, let's move on to another subject.

yeah twista. the future is so pointless. Why would anyone think about future national championships when we can just talk about something from the past that didn't even matter in the past.

E Man, what do you think our bball team will do in a couple months? As for me, I don't give a fuck. I'm looking forward to the 2023 season. Fuck the present.
