Literally everyone in this thread talks about and acknowledges their teams weaknesses. Everyone but one person that is.

Van Gaal could drop a deuce on the pitch and wazza would run out to lap it up..

So it looks like the Spurs takeover is gaining steam. Not only is it an American takeover by Cain Hoy Enterprises, they're also former employees of the Guggenheim Partners who were instrumental in acquiring the Dodgers and then dumping a ton of money in the franchise to get them back to an elite club.

This is music to my ears right now. We might actually get some ownership that wants to spend the money to take the next step.

There is a difference between acknowledging a weakness, the defense for United, and saying United's defense is 13th best in the league. Saying United has the weakest defense out of the top 6 or 7 teams is a much more reasonable statement. 13th or worse out of 20 teams is just a stupid statement.

^^ Yes because spending a 100 million in one year is considered not spending money?

Jones out for a month. Knocks United defense down to #14 in the power rankings, IMHO.

Arsenal v. City - who ya got? I'm going with 1-1.

3-2 Citeh

City/Chelsea>>>>>>>>> everyone else this season

They'll eventually clear everyone else by ~8 points and it will be a two way race the last couple months of the season.

I do think United's defensive quality is bottom half of league but their attacking force is so potent that lower teams won't be able have enough possession to score that often. I think they'll be similar to Arsenal last year in that they'll be OK but be PUMMELED by top sides.

^ Arsenal and City have three fit strikers between them right now. 1-1 or 2-1 City sounds right to me. We need Ramsey back desperately and he isn't playing tmw

"Last season Arsenal conceded more than three goals on just three occasions: a 6-3 defeat to Manchester City in December; a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in February; and a 6-0 reverse against Chelsea in March. As it happens, these are also the last three 12.45pm kick-offs they have played, with another coming on Saturday."

I'm officially changing my prediction for tomorrow to an Arsenal ass whipping.

Typical arsenal bullshit in the back leads to a City goal. After arsenal have been dominating the game. So undisciplined and no urgency in the back

More like Flamini sucks.

Jack has made some bad decision on one touch passes but he has been pretty good this year and this game IMO. Wish he wouldn't dive though...

Didn't Wilshire's terrible pass into the box lead to the goal? Didn't even make it past the first defender.

Hate that I missed the first 20 minutes when Arsenal were apparently dominating. City looked well on top from the rest of the first half that I saw.

Excellent finish from Wilshere!

Costa is destroying the Premier League. Costa, Suarez, and Sturridge would have been absolutely filthy last year.

Costa. I was so, so wrong.

They look best by a wide margin... But it's a long season and Costa does get injured.

Liverpiols elite number 1defense in England has lost to the vaunted Aston Villa offense at home. It looks like Liverpool's defense, midfield, and attack belongs to the bottom half of the premier league as they couldn't beat an Aston Villa side who finished 15th last year.

Finally got to watch the second half.

Sanchez is seriously impressive. Works his ass off, already my favorite player in the squad.

Jack has been quite good in the 4-1-4-1, but Ramsey and obviously Ozil are suffering from it. Flamini is shit and needs to be replaced in January. I think Welbeck will be pretty good.

meh, that sucked

I'm kinda reminded of 2008-2010, when we relied on Gerard/Torres to conjure A goal out of something. there was just no brilliance/penetration in front of goal.

I dunno, maybe Balotelli will start performing...he's such a cocky motherfucker and he'll be starting every week, so it's time for him to start racking up stats in the Premier League again.

still, we miss Suarez just a little bit.

Balotelli has never had a great goal record from open play. He has always been about his potential but at some point he is what he is. Still think he was worth it at the price...

Obviously with Sturridge healthy and Raheem playing a full 90 goals will come but Balo is no Suarez in front of goal.

[Edited on September 14, 2014 at 8:43 AM. Reason : he scored 20 in 54 for City so he never really "racked up" goals]

Sort of a lucky opening goal for Villa, combined with solid Villa defense and a sluggish Liverpool start made it very tough to get back into the game.

Liverpool's front 4 looked like 4 players that had never played together before which isn't a surprise. I'm not panicking quite yet. There's a ton of talent on this team and there are a lot of opportunities for them to develop a rhythm.

Man United's team looked like 11 players that had hardly played together before which isn't a surprise. I'm not panicking quite yet. There's a ton of talent on this team and there are a lot of opportunities for them to develop a rhythm.

That didn't stop you lot from hating the first three week. Guess this lame excuse only works for teams that aren't Man United.

Fair play.

I think if you actually read my posts this season that weren't blatantly trolling stupid shit you say sometimes, you'd see that I've been pretty fair towards United. Picked then to finish ahead of Liverpool for Christ's sake.

Liverpool fans are deservedly hyped about the return to the CL I'm sure.

Chelsea and Pool will roll their third grade opponents. City will lose and Arsenal probably will too. I'm honestly at a complete loss how Chelsea keeps getting their easy groups. FFS they aren't in a higher pot than Arsenal even..

I've safely ignored CL group stages for the last few years so it's actually kind of annoying having to skip work for more afternoons now.
