I actually got out a pen and paper to map out which hockey games I wanted to watch this week, and have at least one for every night, and two on some nights

* = win is beneficial to the canes, with the possible exception of Buffalo - Washington. It would be nice for Washington to drop all of their games and the canes to take the division, but I'd rather see Buffalo lose and make sure we're in the playoffs

Every. Single. Year, my grandfather says 'no presents for my birthday, please. All I want is for everyone to come here, eat, and socialize. And maybe clean up after the meal, so I don't have to '

Every year, my mother tries to co-opt the entire fucking family into giving him a group present, always centered around photos of the family: a digital frame loaded with pictures from the past year. A scrapbook. Framed group pictures of the grandkids. A photobook.

All because "What grandparent DOESNT like pictures of their grandkids?! And you know, he DID like the christmas present I gave him!" (yes, she gives the same gift at christmas, too. the idea is he's old and doesn't need stuff, but somehow, this stuff doesn't count)

Never mind that she never emails him pictures just because. If it's the thought that counts, you don't need a gift-giving occasion

I should just be like and ignore her email, but for whatever reason (other than "won't you just leave well enough alone???"), I am truly angry at her
