Herb was far better than the guy before him, and he was much better than the guy after him. So, safe to say that we shouldn't keep bashing like him like we do. The guy deserves respect at the very least for bringing us Hodge.

Holy shit man nobody this year said fire him. Forgot with some of you, no coach can be criticized at all. Most people in Wolfpack land just are questioning if Archie would be an improvement because he is probably ready to take over a big time program. Chill out.

Also as for losing POY, I got flamed for saying we would be a better team this year without TJ because we would play team ball. But at the time I was just insufferable I guess.

He's better than Scott Drew. He's just not a Hall of Famer. Tournament draws and guys hitting shots will determine if he's a poor man's Rick Barnes or if he can luck his way into a ACC Championship or F4

Disappointed Washington didn't play more when we got to under 6 mins and desperately needed points. He was providing very good offense. And it's not like our other big men were slowing down UL's bigs. Anya fumbled the ball away a couple times late. KWs offense looked like it would've been a big help at that time. I definitely question that from Gott

That said, Gott deserves tons of credit for getting us to the sweet 16. There's a lot of stuff to build on for next year. I think we can make a big step forward next year, but it depends a lot on the development of the front court and Martins

I love Gott. 2 sweet 16s in 4 seasons is a great start. Let's continue to build from here

Kyle was a good play but he wore out his welcome in the first half once Louisville discovered either of their bigs could establish position directly in front of the hoop and they could throw it to them for free points.

Gott did a good job playing him just long enough in the 2nd half before he wore out his welcome then. The problem was our shit offense with Abu iso's and Gill using an invisibility spell on himself so Turner wouldn't guard him.

UL was scoring at will with KW on the bench. It's not like we were slowing them down with Freeman/Anya/Abu down the stretch. Which is why I was thinking a big with some offensive firepower would be worth a shot. We were desperate for points and had Anya fumbling the ball away under the basket.

Good season for Gottfried but I agree with dmspack. Gottfried must hate washington. Anya and Freeman were not doing good on defense (one of Anya's worst defensive games I can remember) and we're both throwing the ball out of bounds or to Louisville. Washington scored over a point a minute. You think that might have been helpful when we were down 10 with 6 minutes left.

Exactly. Had Freeman and Anya been effective defensively tonight like they were the first time vs UL, then I'm all for them playing over KW. But when they are ineffective on both ends of the court - why not play a guy who is at least effective on one end?

i don't think Gott is a bad coach but he's not a great one either. i knew we would lose when all of you werel celebrating cats pass from his back. Any smart team would have held for the last shot. we just don't give a shit about defense. the 2-3 zone is crap. i feel like we lot every game we played it. we have depth so why are we playing a shitty zone to protect from foul trouble. We gave up 50% shooting to one of the worst shooting teams in the tournament.

This is our lot in life. Even when we have superior talent and even when we have beaten them before, we are severe underdogs who lose on cue.

We cannot rely on coaching to get us to the proper outcome. It's a real shame that after a week of preparation, we lose because of our own decision making. It's one thing for Louisville to out-execute us. It's another thing to make bad decisions.

I agree we had a great shot this year. But I'm not buying the whole 'we have as much talent as Louisville' claim. We have more depth, but not better high-end talent.

They have two guys projected to be lottery picks in the NBA Draft this year. We have exactly one guy projected to be picked in the next 2 NBA drafts, and that's Cat (projected to be a second round pick next year). Their star players outplayed ours
