I'm pretty sure that he can still redshirt. IIRC, "burning a redshirt" only means that it can't be used this year. He can still redshirt next year while Thomas is the starter. Then we get two years of a mobile QB who has been in the system 3 years already.

the ONLY way I'd be ok with TOB staying through the remainder of his contract would be if he were to shitcan Bible and Archer, promote Tenuta to DC, and find an OC that actually has a distinguishable style of offense outside of draws and 5 yard crosses

^I think this is how the off season will play out. I can see a scenario where Bible "retires" and DY "suggests" TOB bring in a younger, more imaginative OC. I think TOB is satisfied with the play of the defense so Archer will likely stay.

Actually some chatter on another site about Woulard. Someone who "knows the family" claiming they wouldn't be surprised if he committed this weekend. Apparently high on us, but not sure. Sounds like he was high on Tennessee but they already had a QB commit. So we might luck-out that we missed on some QBs early.

Woulard might commit, but from what was reported, if TOB leaves, he'd decommit. Think he likes that that TOB and Bible have put 3 starting QBs in the NFL. And decent shot that Glennon gets drafted this year(although wouldn't start barring injuries).

We're getting some new blood and life in the program. While we're looking for our next coach, we're going to our 3rd straight bowl game, 4th in 5 years, and we've had our best 3-year record in school history (or 2nd best, i can't remember). This can't be terrible for recruiting.

I don't pretend to be an expert on this type of stuff, but I'm guessing it's not that out of the ordinary to contact recruits immediately after their coach gets canned. The signing period is in February, right? Gotta jump on these guys quick if you think you can get them.
