why is it that every gun i like is hard to find.

I love the beretta 90-two.

And the RIA tactical 2011 high cap. but i'll be damned if both aren't hard as fuck to find.

Just a double drum magazine. Nothing special. Just an ammo waster.

one would think firing that many rounds that fast especially some phosphorus would ruin a barrel pretty quick.

if you can afford the full auto glock, the tax stamp, and the ammo to feed it, then you probably aren't worried about replacing a barrel.

how much does it cost for all the registration or whatever is needed for a silencer.

I want to go out to a friend's farm and dial in a few long shots. He has an air strip too and when it gets noisy out there the neighbors do call the cops.

I know it's not going to silence a .30cal but it will hush it some.

From what i understand to be able to afford those things you pretty much have to be a distributer and need the license anyway i was just wondering what the cost is?

Purchase suppressor at local shop. Fill out copies of Form 4, get CLEO to sign form or have Trust made, mail to ATF with a $200 check / blue fingerprint card / passport photos, wait 3-4 months while forms are approved and returned to local shop, they call you and you pick up the suppressor

^That's the process in a nutshell.

A suppressor is my next gun purchase but it probably won't be for years
I'll probably get a Sparrow or something like it. I think I'll get way more use out of a 22 suppressor though one for my AR and 308 would be neat.

Integrated Gemtech Oasis replacement top end for the Ruger MKIII & MKII

Outback ii on a Mk iii

AAC 762-SDN-6 on a 9" 300BLK SBR with Noveske lower (two stamp gun)

The Outback ii is tempting, especially at that price. I think I'd still pick the Silencerco Sparrow because it supposedly works better and taking it apart and cleaning it should be way easier.

Yeah you can't go wrong with a suppressed 22 - I really like the Tactical Solutions Pac-Lite threaded uppers for the Rugers, too

^ WANT!

I am waiting until we buy a house and figure out where we are going to be living for a while before I get a can/sbr. Don't want to deal with the hassel of dealing with the paperwork if we move, especially if we move to another state.

Mine would either be on the .308 or a .338

Do you have to do that for each silencer or is it like a license??

Short video from this weekend.
Kind of boring, but gives you an idea of the ground we were working on, and how my 'bullet proof' camera box works.

^^^ Thanks, went with a pretty basic model (I was drooling over some of the real nice ones in the shop) but it will easily hold all my guns and my wife's jewelry. Now to outgrow it.....

Shot all of these this past Sunday:

Left-to-right: S&W 686, S&W 66-1 (mine), Colt Lawman Mk. III. All .357 magnum. Shotgun is a Mossberg 500 12 ga. that the wife got me for Christmas. FIL and I put ~200 rounds through the revolvers and shot 180 clays. Had a few 3" shells in with the 2-3/4" target loads, but I didn't realize they were #1 buck until I loaded the first one after about 70 clays and just about tore my shoulder off.

Getting it next week. If I don't post anymore, it is because my wife killed me for buying another gun.

I don't get the idea behind pistols except in extreme circumstances where you must protect yourself (such as the frontier or "old west"). It's not ideal for hunting and the only reason you would want a pistol is because you want to conceal it or draw down as a secondary weapon against another man.

^ Other than recreational purposes, it seems you understand the idea of pistols just fine.

Went to a few gun stores today and it reminded me why I buy everything either second hand or online. Every store I went to had some idiot trying to tell me some absolute fact and all the prices were way too high. My favorite comment was from a guy who told me I need to carry a revolver because a semi auto will jam at some point. My response was that I have put thousands of rounds through my glock with 0 ftfs and he told me that is because I was not using it in a high stress situation

Another favorite was when I asked a guy if he knew when the new SA XD-S was going to come out and after I had to tell him what it was his response was, why would anyone want a single stack XD? When I said it is easier to conceal he looked at me with a complete blank stare....

a bow or flintlock isn't ideal for hunting either, but some folks like the challenge.

but yes, in defense situations a long gun is pretty much always a better choice. a shotgun is a bit cumbersome in the grocery store, so i carry a handgun.

any ideas on how to mount a sling swivel to the toe of my Magpul CTR for using a GI web sling with the metal clip (M1 Garand style sling). my free float tube has a stud on the bottom of the rifle like a normal hunting rifle would have and i'd like to mount a swivel on the CTR similar to the sling attachment swivel on a standard M4 collapsible stock. there's a small lanyard hole there, but i can't find any hardware that'll let me use it.

there's this universal wire loop that would work, but it appears to be too thick for using the metal clip on the GI sling.

Are you connecting to the QD on the top? If so, this should work:

that would make the sling come off the side and i'd rather have it underneath the rifle. primary use is hunting, so i use a hasty sling fairly often if i can't get to a tree for a rest.

this is pretty much what i want, but with the CTR instead of the standard M4 collapsible. i like the wobble-free friction lock of the CTR.

Can you find a small carabiner or something that'll fit in the lanyard hole?

Yea the friction lock is pretty cool, I just got the new Magpul STR and love it. Very solid
