Actually, Freeman is still the same player. We just abandoned the UCLA high post offense and stopped running offense through him (and ran it through Barber, instead).

Play your best players and change the system to fit them. Genius idea. Gott really didn't want to abandon his system, so that's why he stuck with washington for so long. Turns out that we needed defense way more than we needed bad 2 point shots from bigs.

The question for next year is will he build the team defense-first, or is he gonna trot out Abu shooting jump shots from the elbow.

Exactly. Us "haters" told all of you all year we had S16 talent and you just spewed a bunch of nonsense how we were so young and inexperienced when in reality we were right and we did have talent. We had more talent than a team that was 33-2 and a #1 seed. Hopefully next year we advance and start taking care of the BCs and Wakes and move up from barely above the bubble.

Given what we should be returning, next year is a great opportunity for us to take the nex step. Gott's done a great job so far. But obviously we have to take the next step as some point. That next step, imo, is becoming a top 25 team and not being a bubble team. That's what I kinda hope/expect for next season.

You see a youtube highlight video of some crossovers or jump shots or dunks, which is what makes these AAU dickrider websites rank these players as high as they do, then you wonder why they don't spend all their energy on playing defense and boxing out. Not many people were really picking us to win or anything. We were like 9.5 point underdogs. Jay Williams picked us I think, but it's not like all the "experts" expected us to win. Hell, most of them had Nova in the Final 4

No thats not how it works. Thats not how any of this works.

They actually go to the games and evaluate players during the high school season as well. They start very early. I know some of the guys and they go to high school basketball games every chance they get.

Lets focus on his torunament record and ability to win big games. Sure hes had issues but thats at ncstate. He could get better talent at a power program and also easy competition in the sec. Hes also an sec guy who has learned a lot since bama. Perfect fit fir the job and they better scoop him up asap.

What has he learned since Bama? To keep his dick in his pants? He still can't keep players, he doesn't even have a rudimentary knowledge of basic defense, and he recruits players good enough to have stars, but bad enough to not be that good. Then when he finally realizes they are no good about 25 games into the season, they transfer. I'm sure they'd love that in Gainesville where they have multiple natty's in the last decade.
