Did you make the move there to shore up academics? Was it a playing time issue?

I wanted to get my overall academics more ready for college and I wanted to go to a place that would be challenging to me. I’ve currently got a 3.2 GPA and I took the PSAT a few months ago and scored an 1100. I’m planning on taking the ACT and SAT in the next few months.

Jelan Kendrick, the #2 SF in the nation according to both sites, committed to Memphis on Saturday. He goes to Wheeler HS in Marietta, GA, which is where JJ Hickson and Richard Howell went. Memphis also has the #1 SG (Barton) and the #4 PG (Jackson, although I think Harrow is better) in the 2010 class. They also have 3 other committed players.

Also those assholes at Rivals released a new team ranking after signing day, and went off and read too much into Cothron not signing in the early period and made him a soft verbal, even though he's already said that he is solid to us. That dropped us from #4 down to the #10 spot in their stupid rankings.

Ok, since I've been unemployed for a few months (well no FULL time job) I've paid attention to recruiting... this article says that UConn is on his list? That has to be a typo, no? I've heard NOTHING that UConn was even recruiting him. But they are close to losing the wing they were going after (Roscoe Smith) but I can't imagine Leslie would even put them on the list given how late they would be jumping in.

Anyway, even if they did jump in they'd be the longest of long shots. What one and done would want to spend a winter in Storrs, CT?

He looks really athletic for his size and not nearly as raw as you'd think for someone only playing bball 2 years. Could be big time when he arrives on campus. Still a loooooong ways off, of course

^ i saw a list of 2012 rankings that had him at #26. That's not too bad. And, given the time to recruit guys from the start, Sid's talent evaluation has been pretty solid. Not going to complain about that

Haha... his AAU scouting report says that he is a cross between Magic Johnson and Tracy McGrady. No hyperbole there obviously...

^ Oh, I'm not complaining.. just thought it was odd. Never can have enough tall athletic guys. Hopefully he develops his game a bit before he gets here. He's the kind of guy that takes a GIGANTIC leap between freshman and sophomore year in college with a year of good coaching from what I gather.
