I've only read this so far. Apparently some 44 year house member told them forever ago she wouldn't go for it. Also 40-10 split in their senate, so pretty crazy Trump couldn't get what he wanted

Some of the slogans were like "we don't cheat in the hoosier state" etc

There may also be some concern about this effort backfiring if they make previously solid Republican districts slightly more competitive by taking in Democratic voters in the new districts (to take away the solid Democratic districts completely). While of course their intent would be to still lean Republican and pick up seats, if there are big swings on vibes or whatever the current buzzword is, they could actually stand to lose seats they used to hold in a "free and fair election". I hope that's what happens in Texas. It would be funny.

Sounds like the guy who filmed the video tried to enter childcare centers without authorization. Having children not too far removed from daycare, I'd be pissed if some stranger tried to gain entry into our daycare. ESPECIALLY taking video.

It doesn't surprise me that people would use daycares to defraud the government, but the way they're trying to uncover it, and then fix the issue, seems wrong.

Getting attention, either good or bad, is a requirement to be relevant in our current political system, but there are a shit ton of things vying for your attention at any given moment in 2025. In early MAGA, being loud and crazy and repeating conspiracies got you a lot of attention in the media. These days a majority of the GOP is trying to be loud and stupid and MTG was starting to fade into the noise. So instead she tacks to saying sane things and actually advocating for her constituents. What happens? The media runs multiple weeks of coverage interviewing her, getting the scoop on the dramatic Trump breakup, running thought pieces on what MTG turn means for the movement, etc etc etc.

She’s an attention whore in an attention economy.

^I agree, the safe call is to see how much crime actually materializes in an indictment rather than believe a word from our government or YouTube news personalities.
