The one way you can explain the same tag on different cars and it not being a red-flag is dealer tags.
which is a scandal in itself. 6/16/2011 4:40:41 PM |

Perhaps I was not clear on pages 147 and 148.
Perhaps I should not have used the word "player" to quantify the entity to which the cars were registered.
Regardless, what you are seeing here is quite apparent. I am going to go all Brakk on you guys and let you figure this one out, because we have seen this sort of behavior before.

It's funny reading IC posters sarcastically say "yeah if this doesn't scream LOIC then I don't know what does"...they're missing the entire point of why they media wanted to see the parking ticket. Not to see how many tickets Little has amassed, but to see which vehicles he was driving, who they were registered to, etc. 6/16/2011 5:49:30 PM |

If this turns into a big enough deal (which this has real potential to turn into) it is going to involve UNC's entire athletic dept.
Unless they have some mighty fancy explanations we may be seeing the beginning of TARMAGEDDON. Bitch's phone records and the missing bits of info are probably going to be interesting once they are pried out of their sweaty little hands. This is probably the info that they gave first because it was minor by comparison and only implicates the players already deemed "dirty".6/16/2011 6:34:33 PM |

I am waiting for someone to run carfax on the handful of cars with supplied vin numbers (the ones with temporary tags). Might be some interesting tidbits there. WRAL is now reporting that Ryan Houston owns two land rovers. I guess he has some rich ass parents because UNC said he was cleared.

Quote : | "Although it is unclear whether Blake knew the players were training in California with former UNC teammate Kentwan Balmer, the phone records indicate that Blake and Austin were in contact while Austin was there." |
Quote : | "According to the phone records, Blake made calls or texts from Westlake Village, Calif.; Thousand Oaks, Calif.; Los Angeles and more than 20 other California cities between June 28 and July 11 in 2009.
Thomas and Austin have said they went to the Proactive Sports Performance in Westlake Village, Calif. - where dozens of Wichard's clients have trained - before the start of UNC's training camp in August 2009.
A hotel receipt obtained by Yahoo! Sports, which financially links Austin to Wichard's agency, shows the dates of the players' stay in California as July 23 to Aug. 1.
Between July 20 and Aug. 3, Blake's phone records show that there were 20 calls or texts to Wichard's cellphone, 10 to Austin's and eight to Thomas'.
Blake was also in contact with Davis twice on July 28." |
Sounds pretty clear to me.6/17/2011 7:59:21 AM |

^I'd be interested to see how many texts/calls Blake made to other players during the same span that Austin and Thomas were at the training facility. I feel like it would be a lot less which would be a pretty good indication that the calls/texts to Austin and Thomas were more than just a "hey, how's your day going?" kind of thing. Of course we're already all assuming that's the case anyway, but it would nice to see some evidence supporting that.
Do phone companies keep records of what was actually in the text of text messages?...Doubt they would go through the trouble of doing this legally or logistically, but I feel like there would be pretty damning evidence to be had if so. One can dream anyway.

Just speculating here but doubtful. Text messages ride on the carrier signal from the tower that the phone receives to know information like whether any calls are trying to connect etc so its not quite like when sending an email for instance.6/17/2011 9:53:07 AM |

so much for the whole "University of the people" garbage. they only care to be open and honest with the public when it fits their agenda.
If they really had nothing to hide as they are trying to make everyone believe, it would probably help their cause to stop obstructing the process. If I was a judge, attorney or NCAA investigator this would be a pretty obvious red flag that they have something to hide

hours after that $0 car sale rumor started it was proven to be false. In fact OSU hasnt gotten in any trouble for illegal vehicle sales. They've been under investigation for months but nothing has come of it at this point. Not trying to derail the thread, just get your facts straight

the only possible way to get legitimate information from them is to have a lawsuit filed. There has to be evidence for one party, such as the NCAA, to sue for contempt. If a lawsuit is filed, it's a totally different situation.
UNC can lie all they want to the NCAA, hold back whatever information they need to until they can figure out what to do, but when the federal court says to you under oath "did you know this", you're in a totally different realm.
this is the only way documents were released in the first place, because media outlets brought it to court. everything that comes forth from the documents i guarantee UNC will throw up a middle finger at until another court case mandates they answer. 6/17/2011 11:16:30 AM |
