Recipe for an Oatmeal, Almond and Lemon Face Scrub
*Oatmeal works as a gentle cleanser, almonds are good for clearing out blackheads and lemon zest has an astringent effect on the skin.
4 tablespoons oatmeal flakes 4 tablespoons finely ground almonds (Make this by throwing whole almonds in the blender and grinding on low. Just make sure you don’t over-grind and make almond butter) 4 tablespoons lemon zest, about 2 small lemons’ worth
Mix all ingredients in a medium size bowl and add 2 tablespoons water. Massage into skin, taking 2-3 minutes to really scrub out the dirt, going in circular movements and avoiding the delicate eye area. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
and
Cleansing Masque Treatment
Honey removes impurities from below the skin’s surface and clears away those pesky dead skin cells, which make your skin seem dull.
1 cup (8 ounces) honey 1/2 cup almond or olive oil
In a large bowl, combine the honey and oil until fairly blended. Then each lady should apply enough to cover her face, being careful to avoid the delicate eye area. Spend two to three minutes massaging the honey-oil mixture into the skin, then leave the masque on for about twenty minutes. Remove with warm water and a wash cloth. Pat skin dry.
HINT: Masque can also be made in a plastic tub with lid - simply shake well to mix ingredients. Masque will last 4 weeks, sealed and refrigerated 4/16/2005 10:26:06 PM |

Then do it yourself.
After years of paying to have it done, I invested in two salon-quality wax warmers and I do all that stuff myself.
I will never go back to shaving again.
BTW Brazilian Hard Body Wax is the best for coarse hairs.4/16/2005 10:33:43 PM |

i'm sick of always getting darker every time i go out in the sun...so i decided to mix sunscreen and lotion
i got the target version of the neutrogena 45, and i mix it with jergen's ultra healing, and i swear to god, it's better than perfume. it smells SO DAMN GOOD. 4/21/2005 11:50:59 AM |

ladies maybellines sky high mascara is AWESOME
but the waterproof one sucks ass. i can't find ANYTHING to get it completely off.
i've tried soap/water, soap/water/cotton pad, eye makeup remover, mineral oil. any more suggestions? 7/19/2005 11:10:32 PM |

christine, it might be the brand of eye makeup remover you're using. i dunno how strong it is. i've tried maybelline's mascara with the primer side and the mascara side, and i like the results. i also like their simple pink bottle mascara in blackest black. 7/20/2005 2:50:09 PM |

After paying $texas for Bourjois mascara, I just switched back to that and I like it just as much, and maybe even more because it's not $17 for a tube. I have really long lashes naturally, though, so I don't have to bother with lash thickening stuff that a more expensive brand is good for.7/20/2005 3:19:46 PM |

yeah, my friend swears by lancome's mascara, but i think maybelline has the market cornered on inexpensive mascara. unless i'm getting a sample bottle in a free gift, i'm not willing to pay $texas for mascara. 7/20/2005 4:04:28 PM |

baby wipes is a thought the point is, though, about the waterproof of THIS one is that none of the standard tricks get it off. it's SO infuriating!
and for whatever reason, the great lash mascara has never worked well for me...i feel like i'm wearing clay on my lashes. 7/20/2005 4:07:21 PM |

as for getting the mascara off
ive always thought that if my standard makeup remover doesnt work, that it might be a good idea to try the eyemakeup remover of the same brand - since they should know how to get their mascara off
as for a general makeup remover that doesnt leave your skin feeling gross and smells really good: this stuff is really good http://www.origins.com/templates/products/sp_nonshaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY5809&PRODUCT_ID=PROD49 ive only used it to get eye makeup off, but its really good at that, since my normal facewash doesnt get rid of all my eyeliner and mascara
this looks like itd be good too: http://www.origins.com/templates/products/sp_nonshaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY5809&PRODUCT_ID=PROD92

I'm all with who said Maybelline's Great Lash in Blackest Black.
For the past bit, that's all I'll wear. My mom told me to never wear Waterproof Mascara when I started wearing Makeup, so I never tried it.
And for Makeup remover, I'm cheap and use the Equate Wipes. Takes off that mascara very very easily. 10/6/2005 12:06:57 PM |

be careful. baby wipes are not intended for use in the eye area
in fact, same goes for most face washes
