Hutch and Baby Chuck had pretty sweet games. Ole Trippy said it was Hutch's best. Yeah-we pretty much dominated from 15 minutes on out-SOLID footwork and hussle from all 4 lines. I felt like we didn't rely on our 4th line as a pick-me-up this time.

That was one of the best games that the Canes have played all year. We were making nice crisp passes and our power play was working. Hopefully they can keep this up for the Panthers game tomorrow.

That fight was pretty lame (Commie got in a good right), but the Witt/Walker fight was AWESOME. No covering up, just landed punches on both side for a good 40 seconds. OLD TIME HOCKEY!

We have 3 defensemen in Albany - Carson, Conboy, and Flood. I imagine they will call one of them up for Tuesday, but none of those guys have ever played in the NHL before.

Well, I don't know about that. Belanger has been surprisingly good, and Timmy will come into his own with the team. I won't argue with Johnson being extremely talented and worth keeping, but for some reason he's concerned with his career at Michigan and not with the professional opportunity he had with the Hurricanes.

Bottom line is we needed players now, and looking at how many injuries we're taking it seems like trading Johnson was the right move. We may regret it a few years down the line when Johnson becomes a star, but at least he's far out West and not in our backyard. Yet.

I read somewhere that Jack Johnson is planning to turn pro after this year. I would have waited one more year for him. Gleason has missed like half the season so far, so I can't say he's good or not.

When Timmy is healthy, he's an excellent defenseman. It was only in the past two weeks that he was back to 100% and he was very solid.

Johnson is a ticking time bomb. His dad runs his life (hello Lindros), he's got an attitude problem, and he turned down at least four contract offers from the Canes, one in the midst of a Stanley Cup campaign. On top of that, no one is sure that he'll be ready to play in the show right away, since he's been dicking around in college for two years instead of developing his game.
