I added that I just got finished working out because I wasn't sure if that had any sway on the vote.

Well all I have are green beans.... I need to grocery shop...

Thanks dude! That might help with motivation. I've been losing it lately and it showed during measurement time. Soooooooooo it's back to the grindstone and keeping that motivation up, I'll keep that quote in mind. If other people are rooting on me I can't let my brain talk me out of things, they're countin on me to win! hah

Anyway, I'm getting hungry!

Day two of fierce getting back on track dieting and doing well.

Apples are tasty.

Does skin get more dimply before it gets tighter? My butt is in worse shape now.

Well, I work my ass muscles alot. I know once that fat and skin is gone it will look nice but does saggy skin look worse than normal cellulite? I read somewhere that the ass and thigh fat is typically the last to go but my ass didn't look like this before!

Anything I can do to help tighten up the skin besides surgery??

That's the only part where I'm lucky. I have small thighs and a little ass...

So I gain all my weight in my midsection.

If that's the last to go, then I am good to go.

We've done measurements three times now and my shoulder one has been the same. I guess that means I have no fat to lose there! Yay my shoulders aren't fat!

you shouldn't have saggy skin unless you lose A LOT of weight. i had excess skin removed after i lost 100lbs, but i'm also only 5'3". you can always do weights to create a little shape, and "fill in" the skin with muscle.

can one like "re-get" stretch marks?

i started lifting again recently and noticed the 7th and 8th grade stretch marks i use to have when i lifted a lot near my shoulders...use to have a bunch of redish "lines" where my skin was stretching...they arent really red but they are getting wider

^your skin has it's limits... stretch marks never go away, they just lighten. if you are gaining mass (in one form or another) your skin will stretch where there is a memory of them.

Workouts are getting tough, well they were always tough but we're adding variations and weights to keep the muscle growth going. Haven't been near a scale long enough to count but think I've lost another pound or two, I usually like a few days on the scale to see if it's actual weight loss or something short term in the mix. Will find out this weekend.

I really need to focus on conscientious eating. I notice that when I pay attention to my eating I don't eat as much. Went to Calhoun's last night and ate a whole damn burger and too many fries, all for the taste and all because I was chatting and not watching what my hand was doing to my mouth. Suddenly the food was gone and I was pissed.

One book I read said something like "You need to start eating like a skinny person. If you watch skinny people they never eat everything on their plate, rarely go for seconds, and usually never the first to dig their meaty hands into the appetizers thrown at them."

So that's my goal for this week, start paying attention every time I eat because I'm noticing that it's the times I don't that are causing the weight gain. OH and I need to get back to drinking more water than milk.

Woot! Stay motivated!!!

July 1st beach trip and if I'm not all the way down to where I want to be then Costa Rica in October for the wedding!!

Nothing like getting laid then being told you look fantastic directly afterwards. Probably better than the orgasm itself!

I fucking love the elliptical, you can increase resistence, you can push yourself 20 revolutions more for a set time period, you can keep doing variations while getting that heartrate up. Definitely something I'll be buying in the future!

I know- I do too. I am planning to work on it for a while tonight since Joe will be volunteering at the Bull's game.

I am going to the beach a million times this summer too... and I want to look hot in a bikini.

My BIG goal is to be this tiny again:

Which was Summer 2002.

Motivation.

I'll keep you motivated Kiwi and you do the same for me.

after you get your food, you should immediately put half of it in a to-go box. i used to do that sometimes because i tend to eat my food too fast without giving myself a chance to feel full.

That's what I was thinking. My friend cut hers in half and ate just the one. She's skinny.

I was really hungry by that point too, can't allow that!

I added crunches to my 'routine' last night. I did 102 of them....

Joe says I am going to be sore because I'm not supposed to jump in like that...

But 102 seemed like a baby # because I used to be a gymnast and did crunches all the time.

How long do you think it takes to see the effect of crunches along w/ working on the elliptical a significant amount (45-90 minutes) 3-5 times a week?

I gained 2.4 lbs from yesterday to today. I knew it would happen. I didn't need to eat a whole pizza, and drink all that beer, but when I take a day off, I go all out. Oh well, Im still at 173.2, a loss of 42lbs since January 1st.

I like doing them on a swiss ball. It's better for your back, you'll work your supporting muscles more, and in time it will help your balance tremendously. Just put the ball under your lower back, wear shoes (so your feet have some grip on the carpet), and knock out 4 sets of 25 crunches for a good workout.

Actually... I was just reading and it appears that I was doing sit-ups... not crunches.... Anybody know which is better? Where can I get a cheap ball?

meh, situps are a little harder on your back... crunches isolate a little more... you'll need to do other types with crunches to do more lower abs and such

Stepped on the scale today and it said I've lose 19lbs. so far!!!!!!!!1 I was so excited, I just wanted to jump up and down. It seems that thirty extra pounds should be easy to get to now...

Also today 3 employees said at random intervals that I am looking thinner. First time anyone has mentioned anything about my weight, besides the bf. Woo fucking hoo!!!

i think if you are doing crunches right you shouldn't be able to do 102...

when you do them, keep your muscles tight, go up a little bit, then go up a little bit more. you can feel the diff. muscles when you do this. for me, doing them that way, i'm wiped out by 30.

but that is just me, i don't have a lot of stamina anyway haha

I read somewhere that crunches are crap and don't use all your muscles. If you do them do the bicycle ones where you pull your knees in and rotate you opposing armpit towards that knee. I don't even do them.

My trainer taught me to sit on a chair, lean my back backwards at almost a 45 degree angle, then pull my knees up forming an "L" with my legs. I hold it for a minute then release. This uses all the abs. You can then do variations pulling legs in and out and whatever. Also prone bridge and side bridges are good for ab/core muscles...

there are lots of different types of crunches, to use every abdominal muscle. they aren't useless if you do them right!
