what time are student parking passes being passed out? And what should I bring to claim them?

or do they not do this anymore?

wednesday from 9-12. bring your ticket and id. You can get multiple passes but you need like 4 tickets/ids to get 2.

and there was a lottery for the tickets. I'm not sure if everyone who requested tickets got tickets though. I guess we'll know Tuesday if it goes to on-demand instead of claim 2.

yo, in regards to the "Invalid MerchantIDWebKlix" problem

I emailed and called Ticket Return a few hours ago, and they got back to me and said the problem had been fixed. I went in and paid for a guest ticket and claimed my tickets without a problem.

Then you won a ticket in the first lottery. Everyone registers, then they have lottery 1. Those people who win have 2 days to claim. Then any remaining tickets will be put into a second lottery for those who didn't get tickets during lottery 1 or either it'll go to on-demand.

man that video makes me miss TA

as much-maligned as he was, i don't know if i've ever seen a RB run through defensive backfields like such a human missile. DB's used to just explode off him (see: GT game). its too bad he couldn't stay healthy/in school.

I really hope the fans came through and that Boom is the intro music this year. Whenever I hear that song I think of our most recent successful years.

I never went to any of the games during our most recent years. The seasons where I went to alot of games started after Rivers left. I dont know what real success in the stadium feels like.

^^ I feel sorry for you then. I got to see 2 years of Rivers. That UVA game in 2003 was unreal. The place exploded after the game winning touchdown, and the interception for touchdown to seal it. It was like a heavyweight bout. Back and forth, punch after punch. If you thought the BC and FSU game from this past year were loud, holy shit you should have been in the stadium for the 2002 FSU game. That is the loudest game I've been to period, and I've been to Clemson and VaTech before. Even though Carter-Finley was supposed to hold only 51,500 or 53,000 that year, it felt like a crowd of 75,000. I called my brother up right after we scored a TD and he couldn't hear a damn word I said. I could barely hear him myself, even though I had the volume as loud as it could go, the phone pushed as hard as possible into my ear, and my index finger of my other hand plugged into the other ear.

Running with a purpose
N.C. State's Brown dealing with brother's untimely death

Monday, August 27, 2007

RALEIGH — Andre Brown didn't have to worry about finding balance between football and life when his half brother was shot and killed last month.

That's because there was no balance. Football kept him from dwelling on Jordan Brown's death, so he allowed the game to consume him.

N.C. State running back Andre Brown, a former standout for the J.H. Rose Rampants, carries the ball during action last seaon for the Wolfpack. After the recent death of his half brother, Brown has used football to get his mind of the tragedy.

"I flew home that night after practice, went to the funeral the next morning and came right back after the funeral because I knew if I would have stayed up there, I would have lost it," said Brown, a former J.H. Rose standout running back entering his junior season at N.C. State. "Being around these guys ... it kept me up, kept me laughing. Worrying about football is an escape. It beats just sitting there stewing on it."

According to The Baltimore Sun, Jordan Brown was shot in the neck on July 30 in West Baltimore and died at Sinai Hospital the next day. He was 21 years old. Baltimore police have not released a motive for the killing, but 22-year-old Tevon Allen has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Andre Brown was understandably shaken by the news, but he's handling it with a maturity beyond his 21 years. While the Wolfpack's preseason drills help take his mind off the tragedy, Brown admits the memory of his brother is never very far away.

"Jordan's with me every day," said Brown, who rushed for 658 yards last season, leading State in rushing yards in seven games. "He talked to me the other day believe it or not.

"I went home, and there was a dove outside of my room, and it stayed there the whole night into the next day. I know it probably sounds weird, but I believe that was a sign that he's still here with me. That's what I took it as."

Brown is dedicating the upcoming season to his brother, and he's hoping he can continue to climb up the Wolfpack's all-time rushing list.

Last season, he became the 21st State player to eclipse 1,000 career rushing yards after a 113-yard performance against Florida State. His 5.3 yards-per-carry average in 2006 was the seventh-best mark in school history, and his carries for 49, 45 and 43 yards were the longest runs by a Wolfpack player in '06.

Brown will continue to share carries with fellow junior and returning leading rusher Toney Baker, who edged Brown by 30 yards to lead the team last year. Like most backs, Brown would like to be the featured ballcarrier, but he says he's content to do the most with the chances he receives.

"In our system and the way the NFL is working, everybody's doing the two-back thing," Brown said. "I'm going to have to get used to it. I'd love to get every carry, but this ain't Greenville Rose. I'm just going make the best of whatever happens."

Media representatives picked State to finish last in the Atlantic Coast Conference's Atlantic Division, but Brown thinks he and the Wolfpack can surprise some folks in new coach Tom O'Brien's first season in Raleigh. One game on State's schedule probably looms large for Brown, but the 2003 high school player of the year is trying not to look ahead to the Wolfpack's visit to East Carolina on Oct. 20.

Part of the reason may be that Brown is expecting a less than cordial greeting from Pirate fans.

"I think they'll boo me," he said. "I think they're going to boo me because I left Greenville. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong."

This thread has had over 700 views and over 23k posts. Last year the thread had nearly 30k posts and over 1100 views. I think some of that may be though b/c I didn't keep up with the counting and posting the corresponding player to that day. Hey what can I say, I work now. I can only get on here in the evening. I remember though that the Days till Virginia Tech game thread was huge. There were even VaTech people that had made accounts to come in and debate and talk shit. There was even some lady that was a Hokie in like her mid to late 20s that started going off, b/c we were joking around and talking junk. As I recall she took some of the posts a little to serious.

^ Korn - Blind was the one right before they came out. The other one as they walked down the steps was from Gladiator, iirc.

they just check to make sure you have a valid student id, then scan the ticket so it can't be used again

They do scan the tickets when you to go get a pass. This a) makes sure it is valid and b) prevents it from being used to get another pass.

um, the ticket can be scanned as many times as you want to . . . it is just a barcode (ie, a set of numbers). what matters is if it says valid or not on the screen of the scanner and that just depends on the program. so if the ticket people want the ticket to be scanned once for a parking pass and once for admission . . . it would be plenty feasible.

when the system was originally set up, they supposedly put the wireless system in the ticket windows in Reynolds so they could scan tickets before giving out parking passes; however, when the system was first implemented all they did was stamp the ticket. idk what they do now as i haven't gotten a parking pass in forever

^^ see that is why I asked. My bad man. I went there this morning and got there at 8:55. The line was almost to the corner of the bookstore. Waited in line and made it to the front at 9:45. Had 5 tickets and 4 ID's to get my 2 passes. They scanned the tickets and counted the IDs. I felt bad for this guy in front of me as well as this girl. Neither had a ticket with them so they wasted a lot of time for nothing.

hah, I went to reynold's around 10:45 and there were maybe 50 people or so in line. out of those 50 people I would bet that at least 15 people who forgot there ticket. One girl asked me if she needed her ticket to get a pass and after I tell her yes, her and about 5 other people go running. They need to put a big message on the ticket website that says "HEY DUMBASS, BRING YOUR TICKET TO GET A PASS". Then there were others who apparently couldn't read the paper on the window with the number of tickets/ids you need to get more than 1 pass. 1-3 tickets/ids for 1 pass, 4-6 for 2 passes, and so on with a maximum of 4 passes.

^ the number of tickets/ids to get more than one pass are the same as last year.

And on a related dumbass note, wtf Technician. I sure as hell didn't know we played VT last season.

And athletics sends out emails about parking passes.
