ha yeah. If it wasn't for crackberry and all of the leaked storm OS's, I'm 110% sure I would've ran over my Storm with a dump truck or something. At least the leaks have made it tolerable while waiting on slack ass verizon to approve an OS update

haha. I'm considering that. I want to see the HTC one with the 1GHz snapdragon processor running Android 2.0. That thing should be badass.

^^^ I dumped my Storm before the 5.0.0.230 leak came out. My wife has it on hers now and I would rather have that than the Tour.

Now I want the S2.

Except I want the Droid.

Dammit.

I've had mine since February and stuck it out and kind of glad I did. The storm2 is nice but I'm not sure the wifi, memory, and new screen is worth paying full retail or adding another line. Not really a fan of the Moto Droid but might take a look at the HTC androids coming.

anything with touchscreen is gonna be FTW. the only other consideration now is if you want a physical keyboard, too.

playing with my new storm2 right now

love it except for the screen click is still present. will take some getting used to coming from a trackball but in the end i prefer it over a trackball

it is supposed to be there; in terms of screen pressing and such, it works differently on the S1 vs. S2.

"supposed"

no. its there because people at RIM believe that their customers want the tactile response opposite the touch only response of an iphone

i prefer that part of an iphone by a wide margin over the screen click of a bb touchscreen device.

it doesnt work that differently from the original storm. just as lame to me.

it may not feel like it works differently to you, but it does work differently under the screen. all for improved typing and usage of the device.

the only difference is the 4 to 1 actuator points

the way the device clicks on the screen is exactly the same

im holding an older storm in my hand with a newer one right now and there is no difference in the physical movement.

it just registers different.

meh. That's my response to the Storm2. RIM fails again. It was nice to have a uniform click across the screen without any dead spots, but the click felt deeper and mushy. Also felt like the screen moved in more on a click but didn't have the side to side play of the original storm so it felt like a more solid device. Browsing was still lackluster to say the least and I didn't notice any difference in performance or transitions between my storm running .328 and the Storm2 with .320. I'm sticking with the original storm and waiting to see what the droid line has to offer. Definitely seemed like there was more buzz and excitement at the store surrounded the droid release.

i still love my storm, and i have the new operating system on it.. it's a lot faster then the old releases i had...

i actually like the fact that the screen clicks... it's easier to type that way in my opinion... but I guess I'm in the minority on that....

i'm loving the S2 over the S1 at this point. the screen click is so much better and i type way faster on it than the S1 screen. the Wifi has been a bit sketchy but word over at crackberry is that it was a VZW issue and for the most part has been sorted out, can't test that till i get home though. now that i see what the S2 is, i really wish the S1 would have been this but o well.

Ok so I got a Tour with a bogo netbook. Question, not 100% sold on the Tour but after a day back with the Storm I dont think I can make it on the Storm but probably could. Is it worth the 200 I have to pay for the data plans to have the Tour or send them back?

Okay, I am ditching my iPhone after 2 years (I had the original as well as the 3G one), the reason I'm switching to BB from iPhone is cause once the iPhone battery dies, the Apple Store tells you to buy a new phone.

So I'm really confused about which Blackberry to get as well as the naming convention RIM uses, it puzzles me that sometimes a BB with lower number (i.e. BlackBerry Curve 8530 is ariving after when a 8900 has been out).

I don't want the storm, 1 or 2. So any recommendation? I'm a heavy email/txt user due to work.

why not the storm 2?

and almost any issues with BBs are solved by a battery pull. i'm not aware of any long standing issues with BBs (except the Storm 1... of which, many problems have been addressed).

As for the BB models (numbers), I believe they are out of order because different carriers carry different models of the same device (such as the curve). I haven't looked lately, but I'm sure a carrier typically only has one model number per device type (save a newer model coming out and the carrier having both for a while).

that being said, the Bold or Curve are both great choices (model number depends on carrier, I think)

ah. well with BBs new and improved sure-type, have you tried to S2? I'd give it a shot first, then decide... (I don't work for any phone manufacturer/carrier or own a storm... I just think it's best to at least go through all of your options first).

unless you're talking about just wanting to feel the actual keys... then that would make sense. bold or curve in that case.

Yes, talking about actually feeling the keys. What's the big difference between Bold vs Curve?

meh. The more I play with the Storm2 in the store the more I wonder wtf RIM was thinking. With 5.0, my 9530 runs just as smooth and I haven't had any problems with it since I got it in February. Wifi would be nice but even with the peizo screen tech, I don't see it being worth the upgrade. RIM really needs to step up its game if it wants to compete. A webkit browser, flash, and 3D support is on the way but I'm not it's enough.

^ I believe the Bold is just a bigger and faster curve. Do you have an idea of what carrier you want to go with? For Verizon, you might want to look at the Tour or the 8530 with the optical track pad coming on the 20th.

Anybody else having email issues for the last hour or so?

Exchange Server is working fine, BES says it connects, but there are pending emails...I get the ")))" symbol beside any email I try to send, regardless of sending it from BES account, BIS account, gmail account, etc

Wondering if its something system-wide
