A little bit of both. State shot something like 35% and Michigan State shot I think 55%. At one point in the 2nd half they were in the upper 60s for the half. We had no transition defense whatsoever, and they were terrific in transition. It seemed like every thing that could go wrong for us did, and everything that could go right for them did. It reminded me of our home game against Virginia Tech last year, but we were the ones that were hitting every thing under the sun in that game, while Virginia Tech couldn't do shit. I don't know if it was b/c of fatigue, the crowd, laziness, or just MSU executing perfectly.

Oh well you are going to have games like that every now and then. We've just got to learn from this and continue on. Good thing we have a pathetic ECU team 10 days from now. We should make be able to come out and make a statement against them. Use the South Carolina State game to continue to help us build confidence, before the Davidson game. Hopefully by the Davidson game we will have started to get into a groove. If we don't improve on our transition defense, Carolina will blow us the fuck out.

We dont know how to play defense.........we play defense like the PROS do (for those who dont know, the PROS done play defense). We dont box out......they run around and get offensive rebounds. How about we pressure the ball a little bit????? Where are all these highly talented guards at??? We are wayyyyy to slow in the backcourt. I also cannot remember the last time we had a fast break.....can anyone else???

Well the alley opp to JJ was pretty nice. Remember State fans don't jump off the bandwagon. We support our team through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Sid will get them playing better. We did see improvement in the Old Spice Classic. This one blowout loss won't affect our chances at an ACC Championship. Wisconsin just got blown out by Duke last night on Duke's home court. It isn't the end of our season. That's the great thing about college basketball, you can take a few mulligans early and still have a good season.

All I saw was a lot of dudes standing around on defense while they just ran all over us. Nobody ever tried to step in the way of a drive or box out for a rebound, or much of anything.

I havent seen good basketball from our guys all year. Luckily we have played some shitty teams so we have squeaked out the close ones. Where is the team that was smooth as hell and rolling through the ACC tournament? I mean, last season even when we were losing, our offense didn't look like complete shit. Tonight was terrible. On the level of some of the Herb losses.

Was that the year Seton Hall got beat by Duke in the 2nd round? I think so... they were a pretty decent team, but obviously not a MSU caliber (of course MSU did get beat by a D-II team)... But Seton Hall was not like a UNO or anything.

whatever, it is just one game where we had played 3 in four days, flown home, and left again a day later and had to play a really good team at their place; it is not the end of the world

the only thing that concerns me is that we seem to show a complete lack of desire while on the court much of the time, even when we win. we just don't look like we are playing very hard all that often and that REALLY concerns me b/c that is an attitude problem not an x's and o's or cold shooting problem

Seton Hall didnt make the tournament the year they demolished us down here. That was the low point in my fanhood.

And the year before when we lost to a St. Johns team that barely won 10 games. That was the year that Hodge declared us to have "the best backcourt in the country" with he, Engin, Bethel, and Bennerman.

I wish our fucking players would stop talking and play basketball.

And I wish Costner would get benched for an entire game. Fuck him until he decides to hustle. I wouldnt give a damn if he was the worst player in america if he hustled, but that mother fucker is lazy AND he sucks right now. Pick one bitch, and I'd pick hustle if I were you because the other one will come if you hustle.
