Why the fuck would he want to go to Madrid after they got thoroughly embarassed by their only real rival, their manager doesn't have a contract past June, and their entire back line except for Ramos is poised to exit the Bernabeu in the close season?

Madrid will be scraping the bottom of the barrel next season, and Ronnie's more astute than to put himself in that shitty situation.

Read a rumor (likely total bs) that City was going to buy Alonso for 18 so Rafa could get Barry. I would die, Barry is entering the last year of his contract, is older, and a lesser player than Barry. I felt the same way last year and Alonso had a great season. Pool needs to stop tinkering with their spine and get a top flight left winger and back up striker. Maybe a left or right back as well.

Tevez isn't the answer, especially with his price tag. I read an article the other day (I think it was in the Guardian) about how Liverpool is probably the best team in the Premier League but not the best squad. And they should work on adding a handful of quality players on their bench instead of trying to overhaul their starting lineup because they've actually got a very good core group of players. And adding a world class striker wouldn't be the answer because the one forward up top allows Rafa to play two holding midfielders and let Gerrard roam which is when he's at his best. Another world class striker who has to be in the starting XI forces them into a 4-4-2 and could dramatically change everything.

Another quality wing is definitely their biggest priority but I honestly think Benayoun is good enough to start.

as you say, what Liverpool need is a quality bench. They'd be in great shape if they could field Alonso, Benayoun, Mascherano, Gerrard, Kuyt and Torres every single game; but of course that is not possible, and who's gonna play when those guys are on the bench? Babel is unreliable. Riera is mediocre, so far as I can tell. Lucas is the weak link every time he's on the field. El Zhar and Ngog seem to be nothing special. Picking up two quality midfielders to pick up the slack, or even one, could make all the difference.

im prob the only person watching the utd v arsenlol match right now. halftime 0-0

arsenlol are playing like arsenlol, a whole lot of passes until they finally give it away before shooting. Utd seem to be playing for a counter-attack but keep giving it away on through balls. rooney is having to run all around the pitch, doubtful if he'll have the energy to do that again for another half.


arsenal apparently out to injure evra early in the 2nd with 4 straight fouls on him two of which were yellow cards...must be pissed at what he said earlier in the week haha
