Ha ha worst rule ever. I guess since the Olympics are saying fuck you to baseball anyway, they figured that they might as well say fuck you to the integrity of the game as well. I guess this rule will be in place for the World Baseball Classic too? God I hope not. It reminds me of college football overtime (which is still the best solution for football).

i like that rule. nobody wants to watch the nationals and the braves go 22 innings in a 2-2 game. It's more of an overtime and less of an extended game. Basketball doesn't add a full half or quarter to a game, Hockey is now a shootout, football is a shortened mini game or sudden death..... baseball is still just baseball

^the problem with counting in .001 seconds is the significance of it. i don't think any timing manufacturer could guarantee the accuracy of a system relying on a touch sensor to be capable of measuring down to .001 seconds.



besides it doesn't gain you anything in the swimming world, where there is typically over .02 seconds separating 1st and 2nd.
