i think if pam got re-hired as a salesman, that'd be an interesting angle for the stale PB&J plot. but pam as a salesman to begin with seems a little out of character for her.
i'm willing to give it a shot. i think i'm more disappointed that they haven't done much with idris elba's character so far, given how much i loved him in the wire. 3/30/2009 8:39:47 PM |

I felt like the stuff with Jim was kinda forced. He has never been portrayed as stupid and "rundown" and "distribution list" or whatever are terms that don't seem like they would throw him off like that at all. I mean is there even anyone in this thread that doesnt know what those mean?? 4/10/2009 1:38:19 AM |

Hahaha and Ryan watching Flea Market.
This episode is full of lol. As stupid as I thought the Michael Scott Paper Company would be its pretty freaking hilarious so far.

so I guess no one else felt the whole Jim thing was really forced writing in the last episode?
In the pictures of their office though, I love the diversity poster as well as the clock for Beijing (since the hands will always be the exact same as their local time) as well as the fact that their local time clock just says "USA".

oh, whoops - i wrote that before watching the 2nd episode from this week. I was referring to the opening credits from a month or two ago where they included the entire cast. I really like that.
But the alternate one from this week focusing on the MS Paper Company was cool too. I wonder if they'll keep using that, or just as a one-off thing4/11/2009 10:58:49 PM |

Michael has always shown a knack for actually being somewhat intelligent in business situations when his back is up against the wall. But the whole thing was pretty pointless other then it means Ryan is back and Jim and Pam are now both sales people. 4/24/2009 7:56:48 AM |

I really enjoyed this story arc. From this point on, we no longer need to wonder why Michael doesnt get fired for his antics. That was one of the show's weaknesses.

that's why it bothers me when he does absolutely retarded stuff, it just doesn't fit with the caliber of person you have to be to manage a branch like he does
I like that they throw in bits of brilliance every now and then to show why he can hack it, but that just makes his retarded moments all the more glaring and awkwardly non sequitur4/26/2009 1:58:45 AM |

^^^a less retarded Michael Scott would not a documentary make
Since the beginning I've watched the show for everything about it but Michael, most of the other characters are great and keep the show alive
I think the writers get that too because compared to some of the stuff in season one, Michael is a lot more competent, but still 4/28/2009 11:34:04 AM |

Really all they did was have a 3 episode arc that means nothing other than putting Pam in sales.
Now she'll end up being better than Jim, make him feel inferior, and will cause a strain on their relationship. 4/28/2009 2:18:31 PM |

I asked Lazzo about rumors I'd kept hearing from aficionados of the original Ricky Gervais series “The Office,” which spawned the NBC version but hadn't been seen here since BBC America carried it in 2003. Was Adult Swim acquiring the rights to that show as well?
“That's a done deal,” Lazzo said, as the PR person for Turner buried his head in his hands. “It's happening. It's done. The only thing I don't know is when to put it on.”" |

Well, hasn't the whole show been like this. The only time I can think of where something drastic has changed in the structure of the show has been the branch merger. It always goes back to how things were prior to the current story arc. The Angela/Dwight/Andy story is an example.4/29/2009 4:56:58 PM |
