picking one player as "the problem" isn't gonna do it. This team lost as a team tonight. No one player, or one substitution lost this. Degand, mays and javi all three had their moments both good and bad tonight. in the end, Duke's 2nd half just physically and emotionally raped our players.

With henderson driving and paulus, scheyer, singler, etc shooting threes the way they were shooting.......tough team to beat.

Our guys gave effort......a shit ton of effort. For that, im proud. We'll move on and try to get another win.

Mays has played more solid basketball than either of the two other point guards and I'm a bit baffled as to why he was out so long.....a point guard not turning it over isn't the only characteristic, they've got to create and be smart with the ball....

I mean I could dribble with my back to them and not turn it over but that doesn't mean it's good point guard play

sid was coaching his ass off early in the 2nd half. you could tell he was literally yelling at them and telling them where to go on the offensive end and who to pass it to. when javy came in everything stopped. the entire flow of the game changed. but he left him in there. when he subbed fells in for williams after he made a mistake, fells threw the ball away and immediately was subbed out for smith. but he kept leaving javy out there. degand definitely made mistakes but from about the last 6 minutes in the first half and first 8 in the 2nd half he played as good as i had ever seen him play, driving past paulus at will. i felt like the game flow changed with the sub and sid did not react as quickly with that as he did when williams/fells made obvious mistakes.

fells is still so lost out there.

Duke shot over 70% in the second half.

For the game State 45% Duke 51%. Both teams took the same number of 3's (14) but State only made 3 of theirs while Duke made 7 iirc. I was proud of the effort on the boards. I don't know why we still shit the bed during the final 5 minutes, but with the way Duke was shooting in the 2nd half only a few teams would be able to keep up.

Gerald Henderson complimented our team nicely at the end. I wish we had a player like him on our team. Dude was unreal on both sides of the court in the second half.

I was there.... definitely a good first 30 minutes. We had the Duke fans nervous as hell... they all breathed a collective sigh of relief when they finally started sinking all of their shots.

Was fun to be there until Lowe put in the lineup of death when we were up by 4 (Gonzalez, Smith, Ferguson, Horner, Thomas). Two of those guys, no biggie, but 5!? I felt like that was a huge turning point in the game, Javi allowed Nolan to get those threes.

Oh well, we did a lot better than most people thought we would.

I got to use such snappy comebacks on Duke fans like "hey, we've lost to a lot worse teams than you guys".... or "hey, at least we won the first half!".... or, "FOOTBALL!"

To be honest I was expecting worse in the TO category. Duke is the best defensive team in the league and one of the best nationally. This Duke team is playing some of the best defense that they've played in years. Couple that with our shakiness at PG and I wouldn't have been surprised if we had ended up with nearly 30 TOs. We had 5 TOs in the first 5 minutes.
