seems like, for me, while the Beat L.A. chant is lame and uncreative in general, it is worse when you are actually playing them. of course you want to beat LA, they are the team you are playing! in other cases, the point is "fuck the team we are playing now, we are looking past you to our next opponent"

^all florida pro sports fans (maybe excepting bucs/dolphins) and most florida college sports fans are hardcore bandwagoners, so the fact that they dont know how to cheer is not surprising

btw, anyone seen Tiger, is he manning up and rooting for the lakers, being neutral, or punking out and cheering for Orlando?

^^your mother

the chant has historically, at least in my memory, been done in the clinching game of a playoff series in which the next opponent is the lakers

not sure if i've heard anyone do it WHILE they were playing the lakers

could be mistaken though

I've never heard it either. Except for every single Kings-Lakers or Warrior-Lakers game.

^^^ well, historically, the chant has been used either in a game clinching series, like you said, or in a game where the home team is on the verge of losing a playoff series and the fans are actually cheering for the winning team to win the next round so as to validate their loss.

but they didnt^

If Orlando has to shoot 63% from the field to barely win, I dont see this going back to L.A.

They point is that they don't have to be unconscious from the field to win. They just have to play and not give the game away like they did in LA.

They beat the Lakers this year by shooting 49% and 45% (the latter being in LA). So the facts would tend to agree.

Now STFU...I'm done feeding you, troll.
