Adebayor to Madrid

Should be interesting to see if he can actually help Jose solve some of those problems up front.

that Adebayor move is kinda dumb. no way in hell that guy is match fit, and I don't think he's fast enough to play in Spain. I think this is a Valdano signing and not a Jose Mourinho signing. We'll see hw it works out, but I don't have high hopes.

benzema is killing it out there. good to see that brazil is back to being completely stagnant in the back after dunga and his "defensive tactics" were tossed aside.

all i need now is a gourcuff goal!

yeah ive only seen the 2nd half. i was wondering for a bit too why brazil looked like ass. i mean this squad doesnt look imposing in the first place, but being down a man makes them look even more pathetic

^ agree on both of those

Messi's flick was fucking ridiculous too. He has a hell of an imagination to get the ball in that space where the keeper had no chance.

I thought it was a really good finish from Di Maria. But yeah, Messi has ridiculous creativity to even see that pass like he did.

ehh, didnt think that di maria goal was that great. if aimorris thinks it was shitty defending for rooneys over the shoulder trap and half volley, then this was even worse. the defender has a good 5 yards on di maria and is still somehow beaten in like 10 yards of space...and the gk couldve come out and beaten di maria to it

There are conflicting reports about Bale's fitness heading into Tuesday. I would be shocked if he didn't at least try and warm up. They said he returned to training last week. Of all the matches for him to miss, this one would hurt.

The good news is that it looks like VDV is going to be ready though.

Roberto Carlos retired a couple days ago stemming from the same incident that Ronaldo cited as well.

Those Brazilian fans are fucking crazy.

Here's my two perspectives for tomorrow

FAN: If we can get out early and get a cheap goal sometime in the first 30 minutes, it would allow our guys to not chase the game and get caught on a counter by Milan where you've got Ibra on Gallas 1v1. Harry has been so successful attacking good teams instead of letting them dictate that I seriously doubt we go into this match playing for a draw. Spurs will open it up, for better or worse. No one in the world is giving us a chance so no pressure, just go out loose and play well.

Defoe has been saving all those goals he hasn't scored in the EPL and comes up big with 2 goals. Robinho counters at the end in a 2-1 Spurs win.

REALIST: We're outgunned, without our best player, and playing on the road. To draw in this situation would feel like a HUUUUUGE win coming back WHL. We'll probably get down in the first half and not be able to catch up.

Milan 2-0 or 3-1

Either way, I feel like Christmas Eve right now. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

^^^ Roberto Carlos didn't retire, he got a 1 year offer from Russia so with him being 38 and all they released him from his contract to allow him to one last chance at making a bunch of money abroad.

You mean in name or in terms of fatness? If fatness, then yes. If name, then lets let Christiano Ronaldo just be the Ronaldo for now and leave Ronaldinho as Ronaldino.

Granted, Ronaldo does have a medical condition to attribute to his fatness whereas Ronaldinho's problem lies in nightclubs (although he looks to have slimmed back down a bit since moving to Brazil).

Well I meant traditionally, in Portuguese the addition of "inho" means "small" or "little" version of whatever

When Fat Ronaldo first burst onto the scene, he was "Ronaldinho" in the selecao because there was already a "Ronaldo," who retired pretty soon thereafter, so I would imagine by progression that makes "Ronaldinho" now "Ronaldo," because there's no "big brother" version

[Edited on February 14, 2011 at 10:37 PM. Reason : I seem to recall Milan getting raped by United recently. 4-0?]

If you click on the Tottenham-AC Milan link it brings up a bunch of different links. Some of them don't work and some aren't in English but the first few worked fine for me.
